Tough times don't last but tough people do, we go stand tall

Relationship wey money no dey, e go later boring
E go later sour, e go later scatter
She go serve you breakfast on a bigger platter
I say that's why I pray every night and day
That I get paid so I can slay
Life show me pepper, many things I can't say
Chance ti m'ori, m'ode take advantage
Had no choice so I paid the price
My agege bread, me I turn to slice
All the dirty for my life, me I sanitize
Moni shoe get size, better realize, better realize oh

And I know dem how feel tonight
I know man I wan dey tonight
Wan manya and feel alright

Tough times don't last but tough people do, we go stand tall
Eyes red like we jogor

The lyrics to Wizkid's song "IDK" showcase a mixture of confidence, resilience, and determination in the face of adversity. The first verse begins with a reference to Eledumare, which can be interpreted as a higher power or divine force that provides inspiration and motivation. The line "Eledumare na hin dey ginger me nicely" suggests that Wizkid feels energized and uplifted by this presence.
The following lyrics, "Ojodi k'ose so, On baba, se ko se ko," can be understood as a call to action, urging people to rise up and take control of their destinies. Wizkid emphasizes the importance of prayer and maintaining a positive mindset by stating, "E bad or e good, we dey pray more." This line suggests that regardless of the circumstances, it is crucial to remain hopeful and resilient.
The next set of lyrics, "Tough times don't last but tough people do, we go stand tall," highlights the theme of resilience. Wizkid acknowledges that difficult circumstances may arise, but he affirms his determination to overcome them. He compares himself and others to someone with red eyes from intense work or determination, symbolizing their unwavering commitment.
The chorus of the song expresses a desire for enjoyment and celebration. The line "And I know dem how feel tonight, I know man I wan dey tonight" signifies Wizkid's readiness to participate and revel in the festivities. He wants to have a good time and feel great, encouraging his people to join him.
In the second verse, Wizkid incorporates some Nigerian slang, such as "Ibile" and "B'osu." He reflects on the challenges faced in life but emphasizes the importance of material success as well. He mentions the impact money has on relationships, suggesting that without financial stability, love may eventually fade. Wizkid also references his resilience and determination to overcome obstacles, stating, "That's why I pray every night and day, that I get paid so I can slay."
The bridge of the song emphasizes unity and togetherness. Wizkid calls for everyone to "fall in" and align themselves, expressing a desire for unity and camaraderie. He encourages his comrades to join him and enjoy the moment.
Overall, the song "IDK" is a testament to Wizkid's unwavering resilience, belief in the power of prayer, and his desire to celebrate life and unity. He acknowledges the challenges that may arise but remains determined to stand tall and overcome them.
