Hmm, hmm-hmm
One love, one heart
Let's get together and feel alright
Hear the children crying (one love)
Hear the children crying (one heart)
Saying give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel alright
Wo, wo-wo wo-wo
Let them all pass all their dirty remarks (one love)
There is one question I'd really love to ask (one heart)
Is there a place for the hopeless sinner
Who has hurt all mankind just to save his own beliefs?
One love
One heart
Let's get together and feel alright
One love
One heart
Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel alright
Let's get together and feel alright
Let's get together to fight this Holy Armageddon (one love)
So when the Man comes there will be no, no doom (one heart)
Have pity on those whose chances grows thinner
There is no hiding place from the Father of Creation
One love (what about the one heart?)
One heart
Let's get together and feel alright
One love
One heart
Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel alright
Let's get together and feel alright
Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel alright
Let's get together and feel alright
Let's get together and feel alright
In the lyrics of Wizkid's "I Love You," the artist is invoking themes of unity, compassion, and faith. The song starts with a call for unity and togetherness, emphasizing the importance of love and a shared sense of purpose. The repetition of phrases like "one love, one heart" sets the tone for the message of the song, which is about coming together despite differences and feeling uplifted by collective positive energy.
As the song progresses, Wizkid highlights the plight of the oppressed and marginalized, particularly focusing on children who are suffering. The lyrics suggest that by giving thanks and praise to a higher power, in this case, the Lord, one can find solace and peace. There is a plea for understanding and empathy towards those who may have been deemed as sinners or outcasts, emphasizing the need for compassion and forgiveness in a world full of judgment and cruelty.
The reference to the "hopeless sinner who has hurt all mankind just to save his own beliefs" speaks to the complexities of human nature and the moral dilemmas individuals may face in defending their ideologies. This line challenges listeners to reflect on the consequences of one's actions and the potential for redemption through love and understanding.
The lyrics also touch upon the concept of a divine reckoning, alluding to a metaphorical battle against evil and the impending judgment by a higher power. The imagery of a Holy Armageddon and the Father of Creation underscores the idea that ultimately, there is no escape from accountability for one's deeds. Overall, Wizkid's "I Love You" conveys a powerful message of unity, compassion, and spiritual redemption, urging listeners to come together in love and harmony to overcome the challenges of the world and find solace in faith.
