I'm Yours
YFriday Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Still You long to live in human hearts
Angels bow before You
Still You want relationship with us
God who took away my sin
Risen, so reign in me!
I'm Yours, for all You've done for me
This love is burning stronger
Jesus, Son of God most high
At the Father's side
I'm Yours forever and ever!
All the power of heaven
Still You chose the suffering of the cross
Died in separation
Rose for our redemption through Your blood
God who took away my sin
Risen, so reign in me!
I'm Yours, I give You everything
I'm Yours, for all You've done for me
This love is burning stronger
Jesus, Son of God most high
At the Father's side
I'm Yours forever and ever!
The lyrics to "I'm Yours" by YFriday showcase the deep connection between humans and God despite His divine nature. The opening lines "All the cosmic wonder/Still You long to live in human hearts/Angels bow before You/Still You want a relationship with us" suggest that God is not just interested in being worshipped but is interested in a relationship with us, which is a profound thought in itself. The lyrics go on to paint a picture of a God who gave everything for us and how we, in turn, give ourselves entirely to Him in gratitude.
The lines "God who took away my sin/Risen, so reign in me" acknowledge God's redemptive power and how faith in Him can lead to spiritual rebirth. The chorus of the song emphasizes the singer's willingness to surrender everything to God, sharing the sentiment that the love of Christ is an ever-burning fire that continues to grow stronger. The final lines "Jesus, Son of God most high/At the Father's side/I'm Yours forever and ever!" underscore the idea of loyalty to and ultimate belonging with God.
Overall, the "I'm Yours" lyrics are a celebration of faith, connection, and devotion in the face of divine power that chooses to love and cherish us as much as we love and cherish it.
