With his first album 'Divane' he won the Altın Plak (Gold Plaque) Award. After that he put out two more albums "Esirinim" and "Masal."
After finishing "Masal" he said that he had completed the trilogy he always wanted to make.
In his 4th album "Sevdiğim Şarkılar" he covered the classics that he had always liked and then released his 5th album "Hatırla" and recently came out with his new 2006 album "Sevda Sinemalarda."

The lyrics of Yaşar's song "Yaz Bitti" express the end of summer and love. The lovers who spent their summer together in a peaceful place have returned to the city leaving their relationship unfinished. The singer of the song seems to suggest that they could have lived some sweet moments of love, but they couldn't and the summer ends abruptly. The line "ya kalem bitti ne naz" (the pen ran out of ink, how stubborn it is) seems to convey the idea that they should have written some letters to each other, but it was too late. The postmen, who were supposed to bring these letters, are now unemployed as love and summer are over.
The chorus of the song repeats the idea that when the season ends, so do the loves. The lovers who were supposed to stay together, in the end, go to different cities and start new relationships, leaving behind the memories of the summer that they never fully experienced. The song ends with the same chorus in a hopeful tone, as the postmen will have work again when the rains come back, suggesting that there might be hope for love in the future.
