Everytime
Yashin Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Why are we strangers when
Our love is strong
Why carry on without me
Everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings, I feel so small
I guess I need you, baby
I see your face, it's haunting me
I guess I need you, baby
I make believe that you are here
It's the only way I see clear
What have I done
You seem to move on easy
And everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings, I feel so small
I guess I need you, baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, you're haunting me
I guess I need you, baby
I may have made it rain
Please forgive me
My weakness caused you pain
And this song's my sorry
At night I pray
That soon your face will fade away
And everytime I try to fly, I fall
Without my wings, I feel so small
I guess I need you, baby
And everytime I see you in my dreams
I see your face, you're haunting me
I guess I need you, baby
These lyrics in Yashin's song "Everytime" explore the emotions of a person who is unable to move on from a previous relationship, despite the efforts to let go. The song begins with a sense of longing as the singer pleads with their former lover to notice them and take their hand, questioning why they are strangers when their love is still strong. The singer wonders why this love is carrying on without them, seemingly urging their former lover to come back to them.
As the chorus comes in, Yashin sings about feeling small and helpless without their lover, and that they need them. The bridge of the song reflects on the pain caused by the singer's mistakes in the past, apologizing for them through the lyrics of this song. In the final verse, they express their desire to move on and let go, praying every night that their former lover's face will fade away.
Overall, "Everytime" is an emotional and heartfelt song that captures the feelings of someone who is struggling to come to terms with the end of their relationship. The lyrics convey the raw emotion of heartbreak and loss, and the singer's vulnerability makes the song relatable for anyone who has experienced the ending of a meaningful relationship.
