Band members have been Jeff Innes (guitar, vocals), Brandon Scott (guitar, vocals), Graham Jones (drums, vocals), and Adam Newton (bass).
Relocating to Vancouver, they became Yukon Blonde and woodshedded from 2008 to 2009, signing to the Toronto label Nevado Records and issuing a four-song EP, Everything in Everyway, on October 6, 2009. A self-titled full-length debut album followed on February 9, 2010, issued in the U.S. by Bumstead Productions. After the recording of the album, Newton left the band to pursue a career as a tattoo artist. Yukon Blonde continue as a trio, hiring a bass player to fill in on tour.

The feel of the breeze the smell of the trees my pride
I’m hoping, I’m hoping that I could be home right now
Right to you
I hear the calling out
I hear you callin' out
I hear you callin' out
Oh
I’m wishin', I’m wishin' that I could be home right now
Around to you is just sleep right out
But is something that’s making me in
Being out
I’m wishin', I’m wishin' that I could be home right now
Right to nothing to do, trusting in you
I can the world spinnin' around
Making the far into the crowd
Oh I’m hoping, I’m hoping that I could be home right now
Right out to you
I hear the calling out
I hear you callin' out
I hear you callin' out
I hear you callin' out
I’m wishin', I’m wishin' that I could be home right now
Around to you
Laying into the evening
I’m shaking guitar I’m willing on you
I’m wishin', I’m wishin' that I could be home right now
Something
Oh I’m wishin', I’m wishin' that I could be home right now
Around to you
I hear the calling out
I hear you callin' out
I hear you callin' out
I hear you callin' out
Oh I’m wishin', I’m wishin' that I could be home right on to you
The song "Stairway" by Yukon Blonde talks about the longing for home and the longing for someone who is waiting there. It opens with the lyrics "I'm hoping up hoping in I could be home right now," which signifies the desire to leave wherever the singer is and be back home. The smell of the trees and the feel of the breeze are mentioned, which could signify the natural environment of home, and how it's missed when one is away.
The chorus of the song has the lines "I hear you callin' out" repeated four times, which could be interpreted in different ways. It could mean that the person waiting at home is calling out to the singer, missing him/her just as much. Or, it could signify the longing for some sort of guidance or answer, something greater that one truly desires, which is also represented as "home".
The second verse again repeats the same ideas as the first, with the singer wishing to be home, to sleep right out, with nothing to do and trusting in the person waiting for them. The bridge has a peculiar line, "Laying into the evening, I'm shaking guitar I'm willing on you," which could mean the singer is playing a guitar, perhaps to make a connection with the person waiting for them, and is willing them to come together.
Overall, the song's deeper meaning is not particular, but can be read from different angles. It is a longing for one's true home, which could mean the physical home or something greater, like inner peace or love. The song's musicality is beautiful, with a strong beat and soft melodies that evoke a sense of nostalgia and longing.
