Stronger Than Death
Zakk Wylde Lyrics

Hunt me down, seek me out, bring your best
That's how I want it to be
Full of doubt, full of fear, all's unclear
It's over 'cause now I can see

Like a tank, seething strength, crushing all
Pulling you under my treads
Lost some years, lost some days, that's okay
I piss on what's in my way

Your two-faced abusin'
Mindless confusion, resolution
(I feel I'm breathing my first breath)
Manipulation, dyin' salvation
You'll never rest
(You can't kill what's stronger than death)

Your two-faced abusin'
Mindless confusion, resolution
(I feel I'm breathing my first breath)
Manipulation, dyin' salvation
You'll never rest
(You can't kill what's stronger than death)

Looked inside, found myself, it was me
Waitin' there at the well
If you're green, you ain't seen, life's a game
Sometimes it's just hard to tell

Gouging eyes, breakin' bones, eatin' flesh
Puts a smile on my face
Crawlin' through glass, eatin' nails, losin' blood
It's all part of findin' your place

Your two-faced abusin'
Mindless confusion, resolution
(I feel I'm breathing my first breath)
Manipulation, dyin' salvation
You'll never rest
(You can't kill what's stronger than death)

Your two-faced abusin'
Mindless confusion, resolution
(I feel I'm breathing my first breath)
Manipulation, dyin' salvation
You'll never rest
(You can't kill what's stronger than death)

Your two-faced abusin'
Mindless confusion, resolution
(I feel I'm breathing my first breath)
Manipulation, dyin' salvation
You'll never rest
(You can't kill what's stronger than death)

Your two-faced abusin'
Mindless confusion, resolution
(I feel I'm breathing my first breath)
Manipulation, dyin' salvation

You'll never rest
(You can't kill what's stronger than death)

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Zakk Wylde's song "Stronger Than Death" talk about resilience, self-discovery, and the struggle to rise above negativity and abuse. The singer welcomes any challenge that comes their way, as they are confident in their strength and ability to overcome all odds. They urge others to face their fears and doubts as well, as it is only then that they will be able to truly see and understand their potential.

The verse "Looked inside, found myself, it was me / Waitin' there at the well / If you're green, you ain't seen, life's a game / Sometimes it's just hard to tell" suggests that the singer has gone through a process of self-exploration and discovered their true identity. They encourage others to do the same, noting that life can be confusing and difficult, but that it is important to persevere through challenges in order to find meaning and purpose.

The repeated line "Your two-faced abusin' / Mindless confusion, resolution / (I feel I'm breathing my first breath) / Manipulation, dyin' salvation / You'll never rest / (You can't kill what's stronger than death)" drives home the point that despite any attempts to bring the singer down, they are unbreakable and will always come out on top. The sense of triumph and defiance in the lyrics make this song an anthem for anyone who has ever faced adversity and emerged stronger for it.

on Lost Prayer

It's pretty obvious to me that the video to this song is about the corruption of this young boy. He falls into an evil trap of sex addiction and is controlled by demonic thoughts, represented by the red-masked demon. This lifestyle is unsatisfying and in the end he is chewed up and thrown away, so to speak, by those he used and who used him. He also deprived himself of real love from the girl/young woman/angel because of his inner demons and continued bad choices.
