A new take on faith
Pick up the pieces
Get carried away
I came home to a city half erased
I came home to face what we faced
This place needs me here to start
This place is the beat of my heart
Oh my heart
Oh my heart
(Oh my heart)
Oh my heart
Oh my heart
(Oh my heart)
The storm didn't kill me
The government changed
Hear the answer call
Hear the song rearranged
Hear the tress, the ghosts and the buildings sing
With the wisdom to reconcile this thing
It's sweet and it's sad and it's true
How it doesn't look bitter on you
Oh my heart
Oh my heart
(Oh my heart)
Oh my heart
Oh my heart
(Oh my heart)
Mother and father
I stand beside you
The good of this world
Might help see me through
This place needs me here to start
This place is the beat of my heart
Oh my heart
Oh my heart
(Oh my heart)
Oh my heart
Oh my heart
(Oh my heart)
Oh my heart
Oh my heart
(Oh my heart)
Oh my heart
Oh my heart
(Oh my heart)
The song "Hold On My Heart" by m-pact seems to be about coming back to a place you once called home, and facing the challenges and changes that have taken place while you were away. The opening part of the song, "The kids have a new take, a new take on faith, pick up the pieces, get carried away," may suggest that the younger generation has a different perspective on faith than what the singer is used to. This may indicate that the singer is feeling lost or unsure about their own beliefs.
The next line, "I came home to a city half erased, I came home to face what we faced," suggests that the city the singer once knew has changed drastically. They are returning to a place that is not as they remembered it. Nonetheless, the singer seems to take comfort in knowing that this place needs them to start something new, and that it is the beat of their heart. The mention of the storm didn't kill the singer could be a reference to a disaster or tragic event that didn't destroy the singer, but rather made them stronger.
Later in the song, the singer talks about hearing the answer call and the song rearranged, which could be interpreted as finding new meaning or inspiration in a different way than before. The line "Mother and father, I stand beside you, The good of this world might help see me through," indicates that the singer is perhaps drawing strength from their family and the goodness in the world.
Overall, the song seems to be about finding a way to come to terms with changes and challenges in life, and finding the strength to move forward and make a positive impact.
