These lyrics from misono's song "A" reflect on the journey of growing up and the complexities that come with it. The first verse talks about how the girl used to think that becoming an adult meant becoming stronger. She wanted to quickly grow up, believing that she could do anything as an adult, yet faced the harsh reality that there are things children shouldn't see or experience. Despite this, now as an adult, she longs for the carefree freedom she had as a child.
The second verse delves into the idea that believing in one's strength can make even unclear things become clear. The singer reflects on how she used to rely on her mother's makeup, feeling like a child who didn't want to become an adult, trapped between feeling lost and yet craving a sense of expectation in her heart. The conflicting emotions of wanting to go back to the past but also yearning for the freedom of the present are apparent.
The following lines talk about the realization that one's future is already here and that by believing in oneself, it is possible to take small steps forward. The lyrics mention the uncertainty and vulnerability that come with having to grow up and hide weaknesses when pretending to be strong. It touches on the struggle of wanting to be something more significant, akin to a magician who imagines a different reality for themselves, planting seeds of change and transformation within.
In the final verse, the lyrics emphasize the power of one's imagination and the ability to shape their own reality. The singer contemplates the stark difference between her ideals and the harshness of reality, but acknowledges that as long as she continues to wish for strength from the heart, change is inevitable, and tomorrow will indeed be different if she can change from within. It captures a sentiment of hope, resilience, and the understanding that growth and transformation stem from one's innermost desires and beliefs.
