En el 2002 REY GORDIFLÓN grabó el cover “Sabor a Mí”, incluido en el compilado Ska-Box. Esta canción que se hizo popular como bolero, le permitió a la agrupación marcar el inicio de una identidad musical muchísimo más definida. Su segunda producción musical MEDALLO DELUXE, fue inspirada en la bella ciudad de Medellín, ciudad natal de la banda. El material fue grabado en Igneus Estudio de forma independiente por la banda.
2005 representó un punto de quiebre para REY GORDIFLÓN, un nuevo álbum y la oportunidad de compartir escenario con talentosas bandas nacionales e internacionales y de tocar en innumerables conciertos como el cumpleaños del canal Teleantioquia (2005, 2006, 2007), los conciertos de la emisora Veracruz 98.9, Banda Ancha Rockfest (2006, 2007, 2008) ,Derribando los muros del Jardín Botánico, Festival Rock al Parque 2005, compartiendo escenario con Apocalyptica (Finlandia), Sucidal Tendencies (USA), Vhs or Beta (USA), Desorden Público (Venezuela), Dildo (México), Nortec Collective (México), Miranda (Argentina), Volumen Zero (USA), Jaguares (México), entre otras. El Festival Altavoz en Medellín la acogió como banda fuera de concurso entre 176 inscritas, teniendo la oportunidad de alternar con Cultura Profética (Puerto Rico), Bersuit Bergarabat (Argentina). Además en el 2005 ganó un premio Shock por Mejor Carátula de CD gracias al diseño de MEDALLO DELUXE.
En ese mismo 2005 se hizo el lanzamiento radial de dos sencillos de su álbum MEDALLO DELUXE con gran alcance, proyección y éxito: “Buenos Días” y “Feeling Down”, esta última catalogada por la audiencia de Veracruz 98.9 fm, emisora de la red de Los 40 Principales de Caracol Radio, como la canción más importante de las bandas locales de la historia de Medellín, después de las agrupaciones Bajo Tierra y Kraken.
En 2006, se lanzan otros dos sencillos de la banda “Easy” y “Olvidar”. A mediados del año 2007, y después del gran éxito que significó MEDALLO DELUXE, REY GORDIFLÓN vuelve a estudio para grabar su tercera placa discográfica con un sonido más introspectivo, maduro y lleno de identidad. 14 nuevas canciones contenidas en MONOCYCLOS.
Si MEDALLO DELUXE fue la mirada de la banda a una ciudad que lleva en el corazón, MONOCYCLOS es simplemente los días de las almas que habitan esa ciudad. Grabado en Supernova Estudios y masterizado en Phonic Monkey Recording Studios (Buenos Aires, Argentina) por Toto Strapporava, MONOCYCLOS es quizás el álbum con el que más se identifica REY GORDIFLÓN hasta el momento. Su primer sencillo “Mil Soledades” lleva ya varias semanas dentro de las listas de Radioacktiva (Caracol Radio) y Rockemite.com (Radio Web). Pronto se espera el lanzamiento de su video clip. Muchos proyectos, para un álbum que acaba de ver la luz, pero que ya ha cautivado a mucha gente."

In Rey Gordiflon's song Feeling Down, the lyrics express the pain of a broken relationship that ended a month ago, yet everything still remains the same. The singer feels trapped in darkness and can only visualize the eyes of the departed significant other. The truth hurts, and the singer knows that he never knew how to handle the relationship correctly. Despite the intense pain, the show must go on, and life has to continue without his partner. The chorus repeats the phrase "I'm feeling so down" several times to emphasize the misery of the singer.
In the second verse, the singer acknowledges that his former partner tried to be their best selves throughout the relationship, but it still didn't work out. They try to comfort themselves by acknowledging that forgetting their past is a better option than holding onto the pain. There were plenty of sad moments to tie them together, but without each other, it's more appropriate to move on. The chorus repeats once more, along with a distilled 'so' leading to the final bit of the song where the singer, although still feeling down, lets out a prolonged and concluding "down."
