Miki was making demonstration tapes. Yuichi was working as a composer/arranger. They got to know each other through making a demo tape, and they became "the Indigo" in 1998. In 1999, they composed a song called "BLUE", which was highly appreciated by everyone in the Japanese music industry. This song was welcomed by many listeners as they awaited for their first single, on May 24, 2000.
2) The Indigo was formed by five musicians living in Jyväskylä, Finland. Former roommates Päivärinta and Siekkinen had discovered having a similar taste for music and the skill of writing great songs. These two then gathered a line-up of five musicians to form a group later named as The Indigo. The line-up proved to be working well from the very start.
Since 2003, The Indigo has gigged with an accelerating pace in Finland. During the band's first three years, The Indigo produced three demo-cds. In the making of those early demos, the band learned many valuable lessons and the vision of how The Indigo should sound on a recording started to evolve.
In September 2006, The Indigo released a promotional edition of its first single-cd, "Killing Time". It carried on the live spirit of The Indigo while presenting it in a broader and more layered form, and was even aired on Finnish radio stations receiving excellent reviews. The follow-up was The Indigo's second single: Zodiac Skylight. It was released in May 2007 and it continued on the tracks set by Killing Time while taking the productional level a few more steps towards perfection. The single's tracks Zodiac Skylight (Siekkinen) and Shielded Ways (Päivärinta) were both proud representatives of the more energetic and powerful side of The Indigo's works - the former even won the coveted prize of "Best Song By Unsigned Band" of the biggest Finnish radio channel YleX in July 2007.
In April 2008, The Indigo released their latest, the "Wait" -EP, through their own record label, Willowcape Ltd. The EP's five tracks have recieved a warm welcome from media representatives and, most importantly, the listeners. Three of the songs have been aired on Finnish radios and the many music critics have stated that with this release The Indigo has claimed its place among the very top of Finnish poprock.
The music of The Indigo can be called AOR. It can be called groovy pop-rock. It can be called by dozens of other names and definitions, all describing The Indigo's style equally well and equally not-so-well. The musical influences are numerous, but the none of the members can deny the fatherly example of such performers as Toto and Sting. At home wherever emotion and style are not shunned, The Indigo doesn't feel uncomfortable with such terms as "Adult-Oriented Rock" or "Pop". Melody is a crucial factor in The Indigo's songs in one way or another. If a catchy melody turns a song into a "pop" song, we accept that with pride.
A gentle caress on one occasion, a kick in the teeth on another: The Indigo avoids neither the rough nor the gentle side of music. Powerful live performances, strong melodies, the style and especially the emotion; with these things we hope to make our music moving, memorable - and most of all - we hope to bring it to life.
Currently, The Indigo is gigging, actively promoting the Wait -EP in many forums and working through Willowcape Records for The Indigo's future releases.

The Indigo's song 向日葵 (Himawari) is a beautiful and emotional ballad about the power of love. The song celebrates the beauty and endurance of love, even as it acknowledges its transience. The lyrics speak to the sacrifices we make in the name of love, and the pain we endure when love fades away.
The song opens with the lines "even if my hair, my fingers, and my voice are all for you / even if my only true heart is for you." These lines express the singer's willingness to give everything to their lover, but also suggest a sense of futility, as if the love they offer is not enough.
The chorus of the song repeats the phrase "for the sake of love, for the sake of love / only for love, love me." These lines emphasize the idea that love is the most important thing, and that all other things in life are fleeting.
The second verse of the song describes a field of sunflowers that bloom season after season, symbolizing the endurance of love. The line "the flower that bloomed for love will meet again and again" reinforces this idea of love's longevity.
Overall, the lyrics of 向日葵 are a poignant meditation on the nature of love, its joys and sorrows, and its enduring power.
