The basic principle that shapes the group´s work is the combination of the very different pref-erences that its members adhere to. Thomas Stein is responsible for the flowing, melodic lines, while Grigory Feil, very much influenced by the impressions of urban life in Hamburg, adds the rhythmic- and the noise-elements. UnterArt stand for large scale productions and the excessive use of the newest technology for sound-manipulation and -creation. Minimalism is their declared enemy. Only through the merging of the different tracks into a classic song structure can their songs develop their characteristic depth and emotional level … a balance of noise and grace that the group seeks to unveil as their trademark sound.
Founded in early 2004 by Thomas Stein and Grigory Feil, the tracks "Damn my Soul" and "Kill Your Heart" and a remix by Andy LaPlegua were already released in the same year on the bonus disc included with the Compilation "Industrial for the Masses Vol. 2". The track "Ugly" on "Machineries of Joy Vol. 3" followed soon thereafter and "Just You Wait" was released in mid 2005 on "Awake the Machines Vol. 5". The band had its debut live perform-ance in August 2005 supporting Mexican legend Dulce Liquido. Shortly after that, Chris Harms joined UnterArt, effectively adding his vocal spectrum to the concept of the group: to create a balance between noise and grace.

Perfect World
unterART Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
What a perfect world
So disgustingly perfect
What a perfect world
???
The end is near we see through this
No need to be afraid
Turn the nines to triple six
And escape the wall of falling bricks
This is the downfall
???????
What a perfect world
What a perfect world
When Adam and Eve
Had decided to leave
All God's children in darkness
*we'll bow to your feet*
When Abel and Cain
*Have been drawn in the grave*
For a world of man's guilt
That we'll never be free
What a perfect world
What a perfect world
So disgustingly perfect
What a perfect world
Sacrifice the lamb of God
Those who follow me
Are my flock
?????? - amen!
Now deliver us on my further walk
??? souls get killed ??
??? right to refuse
And the lights begin to fade away
So disgustingly perfect
When they cruicifed ??
?????
?????
No one ever could *dare about to* swollow their lies
What a perfect world
What a perfect world
So disgustingly perfect
What a perfect world

The song "Perfect World" by unterART can be interpreted as a critique of the idea of a perfect world. The repeated chorus of "What a perfect world" is followed by the words "So disgustingly perfect," which suggests that the perfect world being described is not actually desirable. The lyrics also reference the biblical stories of Adam and Eve, and Abel and Cain, suggesting that the idea of a perfect world is a flawed concept from the beginning. The line "All God's children in darkness, we'll bow to your feet" could be interpreted as a commentary on the way religion can be used to control people and keep them in the dark.
The rest of the lyrics are somewhat difficult to interpret due to incomplete and potentially incorrect lines. However, there are references to the end being near and the call of the black abyss, which could be interpreted as a suggestion that the perfect world being described is actually a dystopia. The lines "Sacrifice the lamb of God, those who follow me are my flock" suggest the idea of blindly following a leader or authority, even if it means sacrificing something or someone.
Overall, the lyrics of "Perfect World" by unterART seem to be a commentary on the idea of a perfect world, suggesting that it is an impossible and flawed concept that can be used to control people and keep them in the dark.
