1.) WILDES, real name Ella Walker, is a British multi-instrumentalist & singer-songwriter from London.
Born to an Irish mother and British father her music lends itself to her mixed heritage upbringing. An undeniable passion for creating vast soundscapes, Ella's music is both dramatic and beautiful, reflective of her childhood summers spent running wild in the Irish countryside and echoes the expansive sound like that of Florence and The Machine or The XX. After putting up her first song 'Bare', WILDES garnered overwhelming support online, shooting to #6 in the Spotify global viral chart and subsequently grabbing the attention of BBC Radio 1 DJ Phil Taggart and Grammy Award-winning producer Brian Burton (Danger Mouse), landing her a publishing deal. The song has since featured on multiple soundtracks and generated millions of streams worldwide. Since then WILDES has been refining her sound, working closely with award-winning producer Catherine Marks (Foals, Wolf Alice, Manchester Orchestra, The Killers), fusing her indie-folk songwriting with bold cinematic soundscapes.
2.) Wildes is a musical project of Jana Pantha and Jenny Tulipa from Munich, Germany and Zurich, Switzerland.
They see themselves as an electronic disco-pop-punk project. The two musicians sing abstract lyrics in German - with a certain poetry, and at times irony. Spoken word passages and catchy sung vocals merge into melodies that once heard continue to sound for quite a while. A minimalist electro sound in combo with simple synth waves and the always driving drum computer make the works cool, playful and provocative. The rocking barré changes of the electronic rhythm guitar accompany the pieces. The distortion is brought by the banging tube screamer and the lead guitar sounds break the raw repetition.

Stay

Can't get very far
You travel a million miles
Always in the stars
And crossing the clouds
A fading moon
Whispered "It's goodbye"
But as it starts to die
Stay awhile
Show your love
Child among the stars
Just stay awhile
Lay with me
Tell me who you are
I've never believed in much
What can I be worth ?
I'm always a shooting star
Falling down to earth
I prayed in my heart
You'd never know
Feelings wouldn't show
But now before you go
Stay awhile
Show your love
Child among the stars
Just stay awhile
Lay with me
Tell me who you are
And crossing the clouds
A fading moon
Whispers "It's goodbye"
But as it starts to die
Stay awhile
Show your love
Child among the stars
Just stay awhile
Lay with me
Show me who you are
Just stay awhile
The lyrics of Wildes's song Stay present a deep longing for a fleeting moment of intimacy and connection. The song seems to express the feeling of two lovers belonging to different worlds or the vast expanse of universe, represented by the stars and the moon. The first stanza is particularly engaging as the singer touches their lover's face but cannot get very far, possibly because they are physically distant, or their spiritual differences keep them apart. The second line suggests that the lover is always traveling a million miles and always in the stars. The use of stars as a metaphor implies the lover's star-like transcendental beauty or the vastness of the universe that separates them.
The chorus sets the tone of the song's message, which is a plea for intimacy and connection. It expresses a desire to be in each other's arms, even if for a brief moment. The singer asks the lover to stay awhile and show their love, to be a child among the stars, and lay with them. The line, "tell me who you are," adds a layer of curiosity, implying that the singer wants to know their lover fully, beyond their differences.
In the second verse, the singer expresses self-doubt and insignificance by saying, "I've never believed in much, what can I be worth?" This line could mean a lack of self-esteem or a sense of inadequacy compared to the grandeur of the universe represented by the stars. The singer sees himself as a shooting star, always falling down to earth, while their lover is among the stars, depicted in the chorus.
Overall, the song Stay is a beautiful ballad that presents a yearning for a moment of intimacy and connection despite what seems like insurmountable differences. Wildes uses metaphors of the universe, stars, and moon to achieve a poetic and emotional impact.

Just like plenty of other people in this comment section, I heard this song in a movie theater. I couldn't remember what was being said multiple times, so I was just left wondering what this song could possibly be. Tonight, on October 24, 2021, after the movie No Time To Die, I managed to actually remember a few key lyrics, and I eventually found the song. Great song. Unfortunately, that means I had to go through multiple other songs which showed up first in the search results, and didn't even have the exact lyrics which were searched up. That means this song is nowhere near as popular as it should be, and deserves to be. Hopefully this song gets the recognition that it deserves, because I can only imagine how many people have heard it, but never found it for themselves to enjoy due to the search results being janky on it.
