Candy Walls
Trust Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Just give it time
Try your best to smile
Give her lengths of love
But the body is gone
Body is gone
Fondle candy wall
Evening is slime
What a waste of time
And although you still get by
Searching for the things
That make you come alive
It goes down to this
It's a-why you're here
Oh, why you walk
Fondle candy wall
Open hands
Well, that's the style
Bones crack many years
These gamut boys
Millionaires
Take me out on a ride
I like you well enough
To give you mother's arc
The streaks survives, in the night
The streaks survives, in the night
The streaks survives, in the night
The streaks survives, in the night
The streaks survives, in the night
The streaks survives, in the night
The song "Candy Walls" by Trust is a haunting and mysterious track with enigmatic lyrics that are open to interpretation. The first verse advises the listener to leave things as they are, give it time, and try to smile. The second verse describes giving lengths of love, but the body is gone. The chorus describes "Fondling candy walls" and a feeling of the evening being slime, which is a waste of time. Despite this, the singer is still searching for things that make them come alive.
The song seems to be about the futility of trying to find pleasure or meaning in life. The candy walls can be interpreted as a metaphor for artificial and shallow pleasures that ultimately provide no satisfaction. The line about the body being gone could also suggest that the singer is struggling with feelings of emptiness or detachment. The mention of "gamut boys" and "millionaires" in the bridge may point to the idea that those who have wealth and privilege may be just as lost and unfulfilled as those who don't.
Overall, the lyrics of "Candy Walls" are abstract and ambiguous, leaving much to the interpretation of the listener. The haunting melody and dreamlike quality of the song add to the sense of mystery.
