Formed in 1997 after the break-up of Мёртвые Вельда, Vezha Khmar had two core members: sisters Oleksandra and Valentina Sizevich, also known as Слепая (Slepaya, A blind one) and Glen. Oleksandra sung, played keyboard and wrote lyrics, Valentina wrote lyrics, played bass guitar and keyboard.
In 1998 the band was joined by vocalist and lyricist Елена Лукина and keyboardist Aleksey.
Aleksey contributed to only one song in band's discography, Тиша and left shortly after.
Elena left the band in 1999, however, she kept writing lyrics for the band for some time.
In 1999 the band was joined by a guitarist Igor Makuha, who also recorded vocals and keyboard for some songs.
The last album Igor got to work on with the band was сон after release of which he left the band as well.
Last 3 albums and a bunch of singles Vezha Khmar recorded as a duo, though they had Славияръ Олегович of Рождение Ветра and Негодяй help them on a couple of songs in their album called Мiф, which was recorded during 2005-2006 and was released in 2007.
In 2008, on their website Vezha Khmar announced the dissolution of their band and published excerpts of their unfinished album, Пра-Свiт, stating that the album is not getting finished and there will be no new releases.
