Silhouettes
Colony House Lyrics

Are you half empty?
Why don't you fill up?
There's no sense in holding
Onto something broken
Did you lose something?
Or someone you love?
You've still got that story
Tell it every morning

Driving down a road, down a road that's stolen
All the lovely memories you heart's been holding
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on
Driving down a road, down a road that's hidden
All your faithful memories, your faith for living
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on
So come on!

Nothing is perfect
For that there's no cure
So don't you start to bury
The good with the bad and the ugly

Driving down a road, down a road that's stolen
All the lovely memories you heart's been holding
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on
Driving down a road, down a road that's hidden
All your faithful memories, your faith for living
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on
So come on!

And I can feel your heartbeat slipping away
It's hard to catch the light
When you're running from the day
So wait for it, wait for it, wait

Driving down a road, down a road that's stolen
All the lovely memories you heart's been holding
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on
Driving down a road, down a road that's hidden
All your faithful memories, your faith for living
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on
So come on!

There's no sense in holding onto something broken,

Did you lose something?
Or someone you love?
You've still got that story tell it every morning,

Driving down a road, down a road that's rolling
All the lovely memories you hearts been holding
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on,
Nothing silhouettes till the lights come on,
Driving down a road, a road that's hidden,
All your faithful memories, your faith for living

@Stealy yes ik but alot of people are going in the indie deep end this year because i see alot of people wearing alot of indie stuff like hair, clothes, and songs i see it on media maybe they want to look cute or something idk maybe the trend

Kyach Distent

Anything's underrated that ain't shoved down on our throats in the bloody mainstream and doesn't have everyone else sucking up tpo the gonads.

NotMyDivision

It's actually kind of funny how I discovered Colony House. I was at my root canal appointment, (which I was not looking forward to at all!) and the nurse lady, or assistant asked if I wanted a magazine, and of course I said yes. So as I was flipping through the pages, and I seen the heading "Awesome band, with awesome tunes!" so I was like "oh okay, i'll look into them when I get home". So I did and now i'm forever thankful for that root canal appointment. I have a tooth that no longer hurts AND I have a new favorite band. My fave's by them is "Silhouettes"and "Keep on Keeping on".

amazing story!

This theory makes a lot of sense. I know Caleb lost his sister when she was very young, and a lot of their songs that deal with loss are inspired by that circumstance. I find this song very comforting when thinking about people that have left my life. He's an amazing songwriter.

(this was a comment from forever ago... but I love interpretations so I'll give mine)

It's about someone singing to someone who's lost someone. They still have memories of that person, beautiful memories, beautiful feelings. I feel like the whole song he's trying to get them to focus not on the sadness and anger at that person, but on the good times. He's helping them through their grief. "Nothing silhouettes until the lights come on" - you won't be able to see the beauty in the 'shadows', see the truth of that person until you come to accept their actions and life... maybe? That line's always thrown me a bit. lol But it's definitely about love and loss. Whether by death or break up, or even going separate ways (2 friends). It's really a beautiful song about acceptance and loss.
