1) About the student choir from Helsinki, Finland:
The abbreviation stands for Etäläsuomalaisen Osakunnan Laulajat, the Southern Finnish Student Unions Singers.
EOL is a chamber choir with a long tradition and a recognizable sound culture, specializing in a cappella music but sometimes appearing also as a small oratorio choir. The repertoire of this ensemble of about 25 choristers is typically lyrical. An important element is Renaissance music but they also sing choral classics and contemporary Finnish music.
2) About the French composer:
Eric O. Lebigot (or EOL) was born in 1974 in Paris. He began learning piano quite by accident at age 9, when his brother's piano teacher asked him to try playing a few notes. Thus began a life-long love affair with the instrument. After spending a few years in Chicago and Washington, DC, he returned to his native city, where he now lives with his American wife and his young son. Although he works as a physicist, composing for the piano is an irreplaceable part of his life. He can be reached at eric.lebigot at normalesup.org.
