Halford
Halford is a heavy metal band formed in 1999 by Rob Halford, the lead vocalist for Judas Priest. Halford formed the band to return to his heavy metal roots. His two previous projects were a "street metal"-style band called Fight and the industrial metal band 2wo.
Halford's first album "Resurrection" was included in Martin Popoff's "The Top 500 Heavy Metal Albums of All Time". As well, the songs "Silent Screams" and the title-track "Resurrection" were included in Popoff's list. In 2002, Halford released the second studio album "Crucible", although no live recordings have been officially released to promote this album. A high-quality soundboard bootleg titled "Live - From the Disney House of Blues" was made available for download along with a special DEP at Robhalford.com in 2004. Halford released bonus tracks in Japan, such as "She", "Fugitive", "Rock the World Forever" and "In the Morning".
On November, 2006, Halford released a single set from the Halford IV album, titled "Forgotten Generation." The first wave of Halford releases included remastered editions of his solo band's back catalogue and initially releasing them through Apple's online iTunes Store. Fight also celebrated a release, an early recording entitled "K5- War of Words Demos," which were the demos that Rob Halford had recorded back when Fight had first formed. Lastly, a compilation was included, called "Metal God Essentials, Vol. 1," which not only had the fans' favorite Halford tunes, but also had new songs called "Forgotten Generation" and "Drop Out."
Rob Halford's third solo record, entitled "Halford III - Winter Songs", was released worldwide through all retailers on November 3, 2009. The record features new tracks recorded by his solo band between 2008–2009, as well as traditional Christmas songs re-arranged to heavy metal renditions by Halford himself. The first single, "Get Into the Spirit" was released to radios on September 29, 2009.
On June 25, 2010, Halford released the first single, "The Mower", from his fourth solo studio album, "Halford IV - Made Of Metal", which was released in October 2010.

Resurrection
Halford Lyrics
I'm digging deep inside my soul
To bring myself out of this God-damned hole
I rid the demons from my heart
And found the truth was with me from the start
Holy angel lift me from this burning hell
Resurrection make me whole
Son of Judas bring the saints to my revenge
Resurrection bring me home
I walked alone into a Fight
No longer standing in satanic light
I tried to look too far ahead
And saw the road go to my past instead
Holy angel lift me from this burning hell
Resurrection make me whole
Son of Judas bring the saints to my revenge
Resurrection bring me home
I've faced the things I've said and done
There is no bastard left to overcome
The peace of mind I thought was lost
Was right in front of me on paths I've crossed

Actually?
It's more about the phases that Rob's career went with after exiting Priest in the wake of the amazing success of Painkiller.
He uses subtle references to his first post-Priest band, Fight (I walked alone into a fight), and his next band, 2wo (I tried to look 2wo far ahead), and realized he missed making Judas Priest music (and found my path went to my past instead), hence the formation of Halford.
He did what he thought he wanted to do with those other bands, but he wanted to be invited back to sing for Judas Priest.
Best way to do that?
Form another metal band like Priest, and then write a song apologizing for leaving, and all the reasons he left.
Resurrection is Rob trying to resurrect his career as a metal singer.
And with Halford?
He did that.
Basically got reborn as The Metal God.
He put out 2 studio and one live album with Halford before he got the nod to return home to Priest.
2 studio and 1 live with Fight, too.
And Resurrection is about all of that.
"Son of Judas" is obviously Judas Priest.
Anyway.
But, yeah, that bit about "I'm digging deep inside my soul, to bring myself out of this goddamn hole" could be construed as blaspheming God by the over zealous among us.🙄
Rob was fighting with what he'd been with Priest, and it finally occurred to him he wanted to rejoin Priest.
Can't exactly say Halford the band is Judas Priest lite, but, their live set list included songs from both Priest and Fight.
Not saying he wasn't fighting deep depression, but, not exclusively that.

"I RIPPED the demons from my heart."
Not "rid".
For the record.
