The Story
Sara Ramirez Lyrics

Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true, I was made for you
I climbed across the mountain tops
Swam all across the ocean blue
I crossed all the lines and I broke all the rules
But baby I broke them all for you
Oh, because even when I was flat broke
You made me feel like a million bucks
You do and I was made for you
You see the smile that's on my mouth
It's hiding the words that don't come out
And all of my friends who think that I'm blessed
They don't know my head is a mess
No, they don't know who I really am
And they don't know what I've been through like you do
And I was made for you
All of these lines across my face
Tell you the story of who I am
So many stories of where I've been
And how I got to where I am
But these stories don't mean anything
When you've got no one to tell them to
It's true that I was made for you
Oh yeah, well, it's true that I was made for you
The lyrics to Sara Ramirez's song The Story are a reflection of the ups and downs of life and how love can make it all worth it. The lines on her face are like chapters of a book that tell the story of who she is, where she has been, and how she got to where she currently is. However, the significance of those stories fades when there is no one to tell them to. That is why the singer believes she was made for the person she loves.
The verse about climbing mountains and swimming oceans is an example of the extent she has gone through to find true love. She has broken rules and crossed boundaries, but it was all for the person she loves. Even when she was broke and had nothing to offer, the love she has was enough to make her feel like a million bucks.
The chorus repeats "I was made for you" several times, emphasizing that her life story is incomplete without the person she loves. It showcases the depth and importance of the connection they share. The singer reveals that there is much about her life that her friends do not know, but her lover does. This person knows her true self, including her struggles and vulnerabilities. It is a testament to the strength of their bond and the value of having someone to share one's story with.
