Ibitsu
Boris Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
"AKUMADEMO AKUMANONAI"
won't be weathered away
keep on being
hate formulas
worthless rites
Distorted intentions
EVIL intentions
do not resist, eat up the will
up above the awareness
sand storming
I will keep on being
no need for forced logic
want to achieve this wicked formation
deform the sign of retaliation
with the light of the rite
let it come out
want to get ecstacy from this wicked formation
deform the sign of retaliation
The lyrics to Boris’s song “Ibitsu” paint a picture of a person who is going through an infinite metamorphosis and is struggling to find worth in themselves. The line “infinite metamorphosis connecting worthlessness” expresses the idea that the person is constantly changing but feels like their efforts are worthless. They reject the label of “good” or “evil” by saying “AKUMADEMO AKUMANONAI” (not even a demon or a devil), indicating that their actions cannot be easily categorized.
Despite feeling worthless, the person is determined to persist and not be worn down by life’s difficulties. They say “won't be weathered away, keep on being” which shows their determination to survive and thrive in spite of any obstacles. They reject the idea of following set formulas or performing meaningless rituals by saying “hate formulas, worthless rites”, indicating that they are searching for something more authentic and genuine.
The second half of the song takes a darker turn as the person speaks about their distorted and evil intentions. They say “distorted intentions, EVIL intentions” which shows that they are not afraid to explore darker aspects of their psyche. They encourage themselves to give in to their will by saying “do not resist, eat up the will” and disregard rational thinking by saying “no need for forced logic”. The person seems to be seeking a transcendental experience by saying “want to achieve this wicked formation, deform the sign of retaliation”. They are searching for something beyond their mundane existence, and hope to find it through their own inner turmoil.

Now when I search for Boris the first things I get are about UK's new prime minister.
@emily99
yeah, it's a shame the world mostly associates that name with a loser prime minister rather than this band. such is life. even so, at least the world still has Boris' music and hopefully we always will 👍
@DravenHazard

The same thing happens to me when I looked for this band, so I prefer to look for the song that I want to hear from them directly.
