"När regnet faller ner" is a Swedish song by Åsa Jinder that reflects on the complexities of love and the pain of its end. The lyrics portray a sense of sadness and despair, comparing the falling rain to tears. When love comes to an end, it dies and leaves a void. The shadows take over, covering everything with darkness, and the storms of conflict become a mere noise. The chorus expresses a wish to avoid war, metaphorically referring to the challenges and conflicts that arise in relationships. Love can fade away, and the flames of passion may burn out, but the memories remain to be cherished as they were.
The song creates a somber atmosphere by using imagery of emptiness, silence, and coldness. The emptiness becomes overwhelming, and the silence becomes deafening when there are no answers to the cries for help. Longing fades away, and desire dissipates, leaving only stillness and an ultimate end. Amidst this desolation, the singer holds onto the hope of avoiding a war-like confrontation, emphasizing the importance of finding peaceful resolutions to relationship issues.

När regnet faller ner
When the rain falls down
Som tårar också gör
Like tears also do
Då kärleken tar slut
When love comes to an end
Och lägger sig och dör
And lays itself down and dies
När skuggorna tar vid
When the shadows take over
Och skymmer allt av ljus
And obscure everything from light
Då stormarna av strid
Then the storms of battle
Förvandlas till ett brus
Transform into a noise
Then I wish that we can avoid a war
Because love can come to an end and flames burn out
But the memories remain to be remembered as they were
