Engaging and interesting as this video is there are so many things that it fails to suggest and in light of the gravity of the situation, something Rob is constantly keen to remind us about, I find bewildering if I am generous and suspicious about if I am cynical. He talks about how we in the west consume so much and this may be true but there are some that consume much more than other and this can not be overstated. Its the obvious low hanging fruit. So some low hanging fruit ideas might be to put a cap on wealth, nobody on earth needs their own jet, there own 100 million pound yacht, now I dont have an answer for what that limit might be but lets start with 5 million dollars. Next share out all the carbon, have a bar code on all products everyone has an allowance (each year) you cant buy credits, so the rich dont have a loophole, when your credits are spent you need to wait for your next annual allocation.

Heres the thing, what is being suggested in this video is so radical a change that to get people to buy in we need to know that it affects everybody equally, if they can assure us that we really are all going to live by the same rules then people may be willing to endure the pain that is to come. If they dont agree to this then they are not serious and it amounts to a massive power grab in the guise of 'oh this is necessary' Why should the masses suffer while the rich can still continue destroying the planet eating animals, buying 20 supercars, buying mega yachts, flying their personal jets, buying property all over the world, not paying their taxes, syphoning off the wealth of the world for their own benefit with their greed?!

Yes the problem may be grave, the proposed solutions sound scary and painful, if we are going to do this lets agree that we share the pain equally and do it together.
