Originally calling themselves the A Cappella Circle when they were at the University of Waseda, they changed their name to the Gospellers in 1991 after graduating. They spent the next ten years working towards national recognition, releasing 24 singles and 9 albums during that time. They became the first complete a cappella group to be in the top 3 of the Oricon chart ranking in Japan with their song, "HITORI".
In early 2006, the group made a side-project release, Gosperats, featuring the members in blackface and singing with a jazzier accompaniment Rats & Star's member Masayuki Suzuki, Nobuyoshi Kuwano and Yoshio Sato. Many of the western Gospeller fans were upset about the outrage it caused on some discussion forums, many non-fans felt offended by the blackface the group members had chosen to take on. Fortunately, this project was announced as a side-project and released only one album under its name.
The members of Gospellers are now producers for several Japanese artists, including Tatsuya Ishii and Masayuki Suzuki. (This text has been cited from Wikipedia)
Moon glows
ゴスペラーズ Lyrics

The lyrics to ゴスペラーズ's song "Moon glows" describe a moment between two people in the quiet of the night before one of them wakes up. The singer asks for just a little more time to admire the scene before the sweet night they shared together disappears outside the window. The gentle wind invites them to the moonlight, but there's a sense of anticipation in the faint murmurs of the city. The singer wants to softly enter the dream world before the person wakes up, as if not wanting to disrupt the tranquility.
The singer expresses the desire to continue gazing at the night bathed in the blue moonlight, before it illuminates their blushing cheeks. It's as if they want to delve deeper into the depth of the other person's eyes, although they sometimes shy away and escape. Yet, there is a subtle closeness as their shoulders naturally come together without them realizing. It seems like they want to cherish this moment for as long as possible, hoping to continue looking at each other until the person wakes up, before the night fades away.
Overall, "Moon glows" portrays a tender and intimate moment between two individuals, capturing the longing to stay in that fleeting moment of beauty, before the reality of daybreak interrupts their reverie.
