Yeah, they have the same tile set. If you look at Chemical Plant, and then the Death Egg, it's just a recolored Chemical Plant. Now, I don't think Chemical Plant itself was supposed to be the Death Egg, but the tile set is the same.

As much as I love the rockin theme of S3’s Death Egg Zone, this one is just the most memorable for me

I see a lot of people talking about them never hearing this because of the boss fights, but when I was a kid I just sat there and listened to the music. I really liked singing it, but now as I get older I realize that it probably sounded super freaky. This song is honestly pretty terrifying

This song always terrified me. It's literally "MADNESS" in song form.

Also think about it, this is the very song that would loom across the lands if Robotnik/Eggman ever did win the day. Picture this, Robotnik has won. His Factories have been built all over South Island. The Factories create absolute black smoke smog which now permenately scorch the skies. There is no Sun, Moon, Stars, Day or Night anymore. The skies now constantly flash red lightning to congratulate Robotnik's oppression. Robotnik's robots run amok, scouring South Island in single form lines. The Badnik's are unstoppable now. The Island is a dried up wasteland, Nature is gone. The Lakes and Rivers seize to flow.

Sonic, Tails, Knuckles and the rest are all just simply, missing.

And like I pointed out at the beginning, THIS very song is the constant looming wind that will forever play as Robotnik's victory theme upon the land.

i came here because i didn't stop to listen this before and oh boy... the theory that uses the fact that most players would never hear this song in the way sonic 2 was launched (and with that 2 boss fights and thats all final zone) instead of, what it was supposed to be, being this soundtrack supposed to be the one used in what it came to be the chemical plant zone, which is INSANELY AND UNEXPLICABLY HARD FOR THE SECOND FREAKING ZONE OF THE GAME!!! Actually as proven by the Nick Arcade Prototype, Chemical Plant was one of the first levels worked on (it was built off of Marble Zone from Sonic 1) and was always seperate from the Death Egg. In the Sonic Jam Strategy Guide, where the developers give commentary for each level, they say that Chemical Plant was to be around zone 10 out of 18, but once the game got cut down to 11 zones they moved it to zone 2.

This feels as a final boss, in the center.

The thing we don't realize is that this is the same death egg is not games, just as see different parts of it.
This feels that you are alone in space with a scientist wellbeing on destruction and exploitation.

The only strange thing is that you hear this music only for a few second because the whole stage is two Boss fights, but hey that happens right, I know how lots of content were cut, I even know that this was supposed to be a entire level (which explains why the music is kinda big to be used for only a few seconds).

The trick to beating metal sonic was bopping him on the back of the head TWICE in a row every time he stands still. Once you get good at it you're actually less likely to make mistakes since the fight gets harder and more complex the longer it goes on. And you don't have to memorize as much stuff either! :D
