Hayabusa
Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to 新居昭乃's song Hayabusa evoke a sense of searching and longing amidst a dark and mysterious setting. The song begins with the singer waking up at dawn and trying to remember where they are. The dream they had seems insignificant compared to the darkness that surrounds them and the sinking of even mythological figures. The imagery of the darkness and loneliness sets the stage for a search for meaning, purpose, and connection.

The singer then asks who knows about this darkness and how to find their way out of it. The despair of no wind blowing and no one being able to reach them is palpable. The line "let's record the distance that no one can reach" implies a sense of futility and the desire to document the vast, empty expanse that they have found themselves in. In the second stanza, the singer wonders where they came from and longs for light. They call out for that which they desire most, continuously and until their voice gives out. Even the stars seem distant, but they continue to shine.
