Atarashii Uta
Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
The lyrics of "Atarashii Uta" by 秦基博 reflect the singer's feelings of being lost and overwhelmed in the world they live in. The opening lines talk about how in the city where they reside, time seems to pass aimlessly and they find themselves unable to escape the shadowy uncertainties of the future. The singer admits to becoming desensitized to sad news, possibly as a coping mechanism to deal with the constant barrage of negativity and uncertainty in their surroundings.
The chorus of the song expresses a deep longing for comfort and solace, as the singer seeks refuge in the embrace of a loved one. They express a desire to stay in that moment forever, finding reassurance in the idea that even in the midst of endless doubts and confusion, being held close by someone they care about can provide a sense of security and peace.
The second verse delves into the complexity of life's uncertainties and the difficulty of discerning between what is true and what is merely a facade. The singer questions their role in the world and wonders how they can use their voice through music to make a meaningful impact. They express a sense of helplessness in the face of the harsh realities they encounter, acknowledging that simply singing songs filled with kindness may not be enough to save anyone from their struggles.
As the song progresses, the singer grapples with their inner turmoil and the overwhelming emotions that cloud their vision of the world. They admit to wanting to shut out everything around them and seek solace in the embrace of their loved one, finding comfort in the idea that someday the pain and anger they feel will eventually fade away.
The outro of the song brings a sense of hope and renewal, as the singer finds strength in the unwavering presence of their love. They express a desire to be allowed to dream peacefully in their loved one's arms, believing that within the gentle rhythm of their heartbeat, a new song of hope and resilience will emerge. The lyrics capture a journey of introspection, vulnerability, and ultimately, a yearning for connection and renewal in the face of life's uncertainties.
