my TSH levels (hashimoto) came down after 3 weeks on AIP despite not taking my thyroid pills for a week just before testing(been out of the country and lost them). so, yes, definitely a wonderful thing. Congratulations for the stellar results..:)

Congratulations! I was on the diet for 5 months and my cholesterol was LDL 194! Triglycerides 80 HDL was 95. I take after my parents, not much I can do. She is going to put me on meds if Red Yeast Rice doesn’t work.

That is great! I would love to get my cholesterol in such good shape. The doctor has been turning the screws on me and my husband to get onto statin drugs. We really are resisting. Good for you

Thank you so much!!!😊 He did not test my IgA or IgG because I had no health complaints. Back in 2001 my Total intestinal SIgA (stool) was 106 which is pathetically low and my total IgE (blood) was 287.76 which is very high.

I was burnt out on it by day two, but hung in for almost two weeks. I still see countless people online who are seeing improvement in psoriasis, but I don't know how they hang in there with it! I actually started feeling a bit depressed from the monotony of the diet. It was brutal to me. And I was really motivated! That's the only reason I stayed with it as long as I did...and trust me, it felt like forever! LOL!

That is awesome that you are so close to remission!! That is quite a hike to the Trader Joe's, but they really do have great deals! If they don't have it the best deal on salmon I have found online is from Alaska Gold seafood- their 20 lb box of ground wild salmon is $215, so only $10.75 lb. The other cuts are pricier but I like the ground for salmon burgers and chowders. https://www.alaskagoldbrand.com/product/easy-salmon/

@RealWorldAIP Thank you so much! I will look at trader Joe's next time I'm there (I travel an hour and a half once a month to the closest one I have). And congrats again on your results! My hashimoto's is almost in full remission antibodies are in the 60s.

Glad to hear the rest of your bloodwork is looking good, hopefully the cholesterol will follow! I get my salmon from Trader Joe's for 10.99/lb Wild Alaskan Sockeye. Sometimes it goes on sale at Dave's market (locally owned chain) for 9.99/lb.

I don’t eat any salmon, I react to it badly. I eat grass fed beef, pastured eggs, butter, coconut oil, avocado oil , pecans, pistachios and tons of leafy greens.
I also take mega DHA, black seed oil, and turmeric.
And dark (95-100% organic chocolate) 😁

That is awesome!!! Do you eat a ton of salmon? I was wondering which aspect of my diet was able to bring up the HDL so much. My guess is all the omega 3's?

Please do a gut infections testing like a GI Map for example. 350$ only. It will show whether your gut health has improved on AIP .

I salt everything to taste, I don't really measure it. If I had to guesstimate I'd say maybe 1-2 tsp a day??

I don’t seem to have a problem with gluten that I know of, I did Whole 30 then re-introduced without any known issues. But I do have a thyroid problem and some autoimmune issues so I know staying away from gluten is a good idea, so in that sense the potato vodka is a safer choice

@jadeashrose For some reason in Rhode Island grocery stores and convenience store aren't allowed to sell alcohol, I'd have to drive to massachusetts to get the Trader Joe's vodka but I'd love to try it!! I wish Ciroc would lower the price!!!

I don't love that the luksasowa is made from white potato, but the distillation process supposedly removes every trace of protein. I personally don't react to even vodka made from wheat like grey goose. There are different opinions on that but for my body it doesn't have enough ppm of gluten to register.

RealWorldAIP I love Luksusowa! But how do you feel about the fact that it is distilled from white potatoes? I guess it hasn’t affected you. I haven’t started AIP yet but I’m getting prepared. Of course I would much rather drink Ciroc but it’s outrageously expensive. I have heard Trader Joe’s has their own brand of grape distilled vodka which I haven’t tried yet but I want to make a trip out there to pick up a bottle soon (it’s not super close to me)
