Overall Meaning

The lyrics of the song "Man Kunto Maula" by Abbas Ali Khan revolve around praising the greatness of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and his cousin and son-in-law, Hazrat Ali (RA). The first stanza describes how the earth turns blessed when Bu Turab (the soil of Karbala, where Hazrat Ali (RA) was martyred) meets the lap of Haram (the holy site of Mecca). The poet draws an analogy between this sacred event and the arrival of Al Kitab (the holy book, i.e. Prophet Muhammad's teachings) onto the heart of Hazrat Ali (RA). The second stanza further celebrates Hazrat Ali's (RA) status as the chosen one of Allah and how he is worthy of being followed as the master (Maula) by the believers. The Tarana (refrain) of the song exclaims the names of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Hazrat Ali (RA), and also Zulfiqar, the legendary sword that was given to Hazrat Ali (RA) by Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

the truth is that Man Kunto Maula is not owned by anyone, over years after Hazrat Amir Khusro different Qawals have been paying their tribute by doing their versions of this Qaul and every version had a unique vibe. NFAK's version was amazing but that doesn't make abide Parveen's, sabri brothers and recently Fareed Ayaz qawal's version any less

My version on the other hand is also a humble tribute in a style that has not been done yet. so i would request you to listen to it as that and not compare it with other versions as there is nothing in common between this one and other except for the kalam itself. God Bless
