The project started out in 2004 as an experimental project with with an acoustic guitar, found sounds and household objects which was the Playing God demo. The music then took a turn towards more of an experimental indie/folk project with the releases With Love Heart & Soul From Me To You and Drug Songs. The experimental folk sound continued with the ep Kantucky which was recorded in Kentucky with the help of some from friends from said state. After some time playing in other musical projects such as the harsh noise group Piasa he recorded the album Sex & Drugs which was a very harsh and noisey drone/doom album which was released via KMO/MSD Records. In an opiate filled haze the Oblivion recording also came out which was drone/doom still but with a huge lo-fi harsh noise influence. When the project went electric and after Tristan felt comfortable playing live after doing a few tours with Piasa he started playing around the general DC/VA/MD area. For a year or two the shows would include many musicians and noise makers he had met and soon there became a 'full band' version of Acheronian. The only song that they managed to record was the song they played out the most called This.Whole.Town.Is.One.Vast.Hospital. The song pretty much summed up the life of Acheronian till the hectic, emotional and drug fueled breakdown that lead to everything ending in 2009.
This.Whole.Town.Is.One.Vast.Hospital remains unreleased.
