y’all, a simple scoop not going far into the canal won’t hurt your ears. i use clinex (i think) ear scoops or something, and you don’t go super far. it’s just better for your ears than shoving the wax deeper.

Actually a really good way is to take Hydrogen peroxide and pour a small amount into your ear, while tilting your ear upwards, then put a cotton ball in-front of the ear and turn it down to ground the H.P. Will drain into the cotton ball, after drained you can use a q-tip and gently rub the inside of the ear. Repeat for the other ear. I had to do this for MEPS when enlisting for the navy and it works great.

Used stuff like this before and (most likely) damaged my eardrum. I have constant static (tinnitus) in that ear now. Would not recommend doing it yourself, if your earwax is an issue, please see a ent or doctor.

Guys, the answer is way simpler than to go spend money for pointless tools, if you don't wanna use q tips (which is fair cause they can push the wax further in) just use hydrogen peroxide, or ask your doctor for their advice if you have skin irritation with it, it's gonna be cheaper than buying all that I'll you that much

Yes and also the reason why Q-tips can cause the wax to be pushed further in is because of the barbarian use of the Q-tip you have to feel out the inside of your ear canal to properly clean your ear. I have tried this and it works for me so if it works for you then spread the word. I used to just put it in my ear and get a little out and be on my day but apparently I had more in my ear because when I woke up one day my left ear was CLOGGED and I mean clogged I thought I had to go to the E.R. But after 3 days and 2 whole bottle of hydrogen peroxide it finally dissolved and I pulled a chunk of earwax that was the size of a quarter if you flatten it . And no I didn’t flatten it I was guessing

i work with a lot of audiologists and you are NEVER supposed to clean your earwax— it’s there for a reason and it will naturally come out on its own. trying to clean it will push it farther back into the canal and as it gets closer to the drum there isn’t a mechanism that pushes it out, so it’ll be there forever. DONT CLEAN YOUR EARWAX OUT.

No, nothing should be poked in the ear so far it can hit the ear drum. Use a proper syringe for rinsing the ears like at the doctor’a office. You can get them at drug stores or online.

I know I don't have to say this but just in case: the vast majority of people don't have to clean their ears, the body does it naturally and scraping/irritating the ear canal with q tips (or even ear cleaning equipment when you misuse them) can ruin that. Not to mention the risk of perforating your eardrum.
Unless you have ear problems (which a doctor will notice during your physicals, or you will notice if your hearing has gotten worse or you have ear pain or dizziness), the absolute most you might want to do is put in ear drops every month to keep things from hardening up. Even if you have problems, either try to fix it with drops or go to a doctor

dont. ear wax comes out by themselves. if u poked things like cotton bud etc inside your ear it will get rid of the cilia on the surface. over the time your ear wax will accumulated inside, hardened & clogged and u will experience symptoms like temporary ringing and painful sensation bc it pushed your eardrum especially when we try to swallow

Do not shove things in your ear canal. It doesn't matter if it's a Q-tip or 'professional' tools. Your ear will take care of itself, and if it needs help, peroxide drops are the most you should do yourself.

Go see a doctor for anything more. You can easily perforate your ear drum and lose your hearing.

Please DO NOT do this, it can damage your ears permanently. If your ears are blocked, put medical ear drops or a few drops of olive oil in your ear to soften the wax. If it’s really bad, go to the doctor to get it removed.

First of all, as someone who's partially deaf on one ear because of neglect. DO NOT FUCKING DO THIS. Check an ear doctor, get them to clean your ears if you think you have this much ear wax. If you try to do it yourself you can damage your eardrums and canals and go deaf completely. It is also super painful, seriously.

Leave your ears alone. This will push it in further and trust me. You don't want to be dealing with ear wax removals and being temporarily partially dead.

Okay but for real just buy ear drops from your local pharmacy and add a couple drops in your ear. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes, then rinse it out. If it doesn’t work, go see a doctor or nurse to have them safely remove any ear wax left in the ear.
