1...umm...I guess many people skip 1 because of its bad controls...so 1 is not something i'd highly recommend...

2 however, is a whole different story. I enjoyed Witcher 2 just as much as I enjoyed Witcher 3. Every Witcher fan should at the very least play Witcher 2 and 3.

This song still gives me goosebumps! The music reminds me of the prologue, how everything started, the battle & the death of Foltest. And the credits seem to acknowledge that we shall soon see Geralt again. Truly epic, both, game and music. Best decision I ever made purchasing this game.

@scavengedfantasyname I'm not sure how you can think the combat is more monotonous than TW1. The first game was literally click left mouse button, then click it some more. The combat in TW2 was much more active, much more mobile and ultimately more challenging. I also felt like swordplay, Signs and bombs/throwing knives etc meshed together a lot more smoothly.

it just can't be compared, you can compare skyrim to oblivion or morrowind and TW2 to TW3 but you can't compare such differents games

Cieszy mnie, że to nasi rodacy wyprodukowali takie cudo i ogólnie cała ta kampania, jestem zapalonym fanem wiedźmina, książek o nim i wszystkiego. I pewnie tak jak niektórych fanów boli to, że za granicą wiedźmin sprzedaje się o wiele lepiej niż w Polsce. Po prostu nie wytrzymuje dostając newslettery w j. angielskim, lub gdy pierwsze konferencje odbywają się za granicą. Doprowadza mnie wręcz to do szału.

@GruntSquad92 Actually, without downloading and such, simply put 'repeat' between youtube and the dot. It goes to a website that autoloops any youtube song. Use it on whatever you wish, it's pretty awesome.

There should be a warning, that the game will rise your standards of the fantasy RPG's so high, that you might end up rather waiting for the third sequel, than playing other RPG's. The same with DayZ - no other "survival" game could probably meet my standards now... ... and that sucks.

The Witcher was long, favorable, epic with awesome story, but The Witcher 2 is... more brutal... is it because of the ghraphics or the story idk...

I also preferred its setting to Witcher 3. In 2 there's a free-for-all with many kings vying for control over a kingdom in chaos. In 3 there's just a war between an imperialist asshole and a bigot. In 2 the final boss was a dragon, while in 3 it's some elf in fancy armor.

Agreed. The Elder Scrolls series is nice in its graphics, storyline and gigantic world to explore; but it's not very immersive. You don't have friends in any of the ES; the characters are just tools for a very ambiguous PC. Even with a mod like Interesting NPCS, you can only go so far in immersion.

The answer is late, but you can be sure that they are certainly present there (in the sense of Eastern European notes).
And yes, I think your description is actually closest to this topic.
Basically, the witcher's soundtracks are not so representative of the Slavic side. Of the Ukrainian language, only "Ой ты, Петре, Петре" in the Witcher 2 intro, and the Belarusian theme from The Witcher 3, written by schuttenbach, and then with a mistake in one of the main words of the song.
But the themes are still good and have that Eastern European theme, which is definitely good.

The Elder Scrolls series are poor RPGs, since dialogue options and game-altering decisions are completely missing. They're imo just action games with character progression. It takes more to make a good RPG, The Witcher 2 and Vampire Bloodlines are good examples of outstanding RPGs!

In some aspects I will agree, but as an overall RPG the Elder Scrolls series is much more accomplished.

moral/story choices and dialogue options do not make an RPG, character building does. there is far more diversity in the kind of character you can have and the kind of things you can do in Elder Scrolls compared to The Witcher games. I cannot speak for Vampire Bloodlines, as I have never played it.

If you're implying that Witcher 2 has less character building than the elder scrolls games (which on the whole, pretty much play to the traditional fantasy stereotypes, with only token storybuilding and character development) then that is just laughable.

First of all, you realize that the characterization and background of Geralt derives from an actual series of novels, right? Whereas the elder scrolls games have no such rich literary foundations and characters already developed by an author.

On top of that, in Elder Scrolls, you're just a generic, cardboard cutout fantasy "hero". You can pick any race/gender/description/class etc. Lorewise, this hero is just the vaguely described "dragonborn" or whatever (more like a title and not the actual person himself). Whereas Geralt is a very specific character with a very specific history, with a very specific "class", with a very specific set of morals and characteristics.
