Heavily influenced by his idol, Elvis Presley, and the 1950s rock revolution, he is also known as the most famous dancer of the Hula hoop fad. For the last 40 years he has retained his popularity in Italy, selling millions of records and appearing in numerous TV shows and movies (including a short appearance in Fellini's La Dolce Vita, before becoming a famous artist). In the latter respect, he has also been a creator of a comic genre, with his characteristic walking and his facial expressions. For the most part, his films were commercially successful, in fact in the 1970s and part of the 1980s, he was the king of the Italian box office in low budget movies. As an actor, critics point to Serafino (1968), directed by Pietro Germi, as his best effort.
As a director he frequently casts Ornella Muti, Eleonora Giorgi and his wife Claudia Mori. His best movie like director is "Yuppi Du", winner of The Golden Palm at Cannes Festival. He and Claudia are the parents of Rosita, Rosalinda and Vincent Celentano, the latter most notable to worldwide audiences for playing the Satan character in Mel Gibson`s The Passion of the Christ. He also works often as a host for several Italian television shows.
His 1968 song "Azzurro" has regained popularity in 2006, due to it being the anthem of the Italian national football team (the Azzurri) who won the 2006 FIFA World Cup. The artist Vincent Fiorello has also created a remix of the song.
His last concert-event in 2012, after 18 years without live performances, was transmitted on Canale 5, with over 9 million viewers both evenings.

A indovinare
Il mondo che c'è
C'è dentro di noi
Ma so come fai
Coro: Ma so come fai
A farti amare
Coro: A farti amar.
Ritrova un po' di sé
E questa volta
Ci porti un passato
Che mi hanno raccontato
Sincero e spensierato.
La nostalgia
Di un tempo perduto
Che si fa viva.
Ma come farai.
Coro: Ma come farai.
A dare ogni volta
Coro: Come farai.
Qualcosa di più
E d'essere sempre tu,
Un aeroplano
Che vola per volare,
Il cuore di un cantante
Che canta per cantare.
Amar l'amore
Perché l'amore
Come fai tu
Ma so come fai
Ma so come fai
A farti amare
Coro: A farti amar.
Ognuno in te
Ritrova un po' di sé
Un aeroplano
Che vola per volare,
Il cuore di un cantante
Che canta per cantare.
Amar l'amore
Perché l'amore
Come fai tu.
The song "Come Farai" by Adriano Celentano is a romantic ballad that reflects on the mystery of love and the difficulty of understanding one another. The lyrics express the sentiment that the world we are looking for is inside of us, and that only by truly loving and being loved can we discover who we really are. Celentano raises the question of how one can figure out this inner world, and suggests that the answer lies in the journey one takes with another person.
The chorus repeats the phrase "Ma so come fai" which means "But I know how you do it" and highlights the fact that the singer understands the special abilities of the person he is singing about. He praises their ability to make others love them, and suggests that this is a rare and valuable gift. Celentano also notes that in this person, others find a part of themselves, which implies that the person he is singing about has a universal appeal that transcends individual differences.
The final verse speaks of "amar l'amore", which means "loving love", and suggests that this is the key to understanding the mystery of the human heart. Celentano compares the person he is singing about to an airplane that flies for the sheer joy of flying, or a singer who sings for the joy of singing. In this way, he underscores the idea that love is not a means to an end, but an end in itself, and that true love is always selfless and giving.
