Rousseau

Finally, some Scriabin. One of his earlier Etudes, written when Scriabin was around the age of 23, the strong influence of Chopin on his early musical language can be heard quite clearly here - the rhythmical figure of the theme is seemingly a reference to the Chopin Etude of the same number (i.e. Revolutionary). Yet, even amongst all of the 'Chopin' flavors, there is a heavy Russian influence which is distinctly Scriabin. There has been somewhat of a Scriabin revival over the last few decades, and appreciation for his musical output has been growing - something that he truly deserves given this statement made about him: "No one was more famous during their lifetime, and few were more quickly ignored after death."

This magical performance was recorded by SPQ last year, after sitting for almost a year as raw footage files I thought it finally needed to be edited and for you all to experience it! Wishing you all the best on this Monday ♥

Scriabin claimed he had synesthesia - meaning he saw colors when he heard sounds! I've always wondered how that feels like, do any of you have that?

Yes, I associate some colours with some notes, but not all of them. Messiaen had synaesthesia too
