The band's next, The Fall of Ideals was released on July 11, 2006 to acclaim from all angles, including Kerrang! and Metal Hammer. The first video from the album was This Calling, which was featured on the soundtracks of both Masters of Horror II and Saw III. It was followed by The Air That I Breathe. Additionally, their song Six was featured on the Guitar Hero 2 game for the PlayStation 2 and Xbox 360.
On January 11, 2007, the band announced their new drummer, Jason Costa, previously of Diecast. 2007 also has seen the band's first US headlining tour, which also featured Misery Signals, The Human Abstract, Light This City, and Cellador. All That Remains also made a special appearance at the New Jersey show of Sounds of the Underground in 2007.
A third video from "The Fall of Ideals" for the song Not Alone was released in mid-2007. Also, the band's DVD, entitled "All That Remains Live", was released in November of 2007. Currently, the band is co-headlining on tour with trivium.
The bands fourth effort, Overcome, is a combination of hardcore screaming and clean singing, best example being a song for the hopeless. The cd is a departure from their previous efforts, but it can still be appreciated in many ways.
In addition, they have released three of their songs: This Calling, Chiron, and Two weeks, as a welcome addition to any rock band players library.
On October 17, 2018, guitarist Oli Herbert died from drowning from a prescription overdose. He was 44 years old.

Far From Home
All That Remains Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It never seems to end
So help me through the motions
Until I see you again
Come be by my side
Fix this lonely night
You may be far away
No matter where I go
You may be far away
But you're never far from home
No, you're never far from home
When my voice is shaking
You are my steady hand
When I think I can't go on
You showed me that I can
Some times I forget
That you ever left
You may be far away
But you're never far from home
No matter where I go
You may be far away
But you're never far from home
No matter where I go
You may be far away
But you're never far from home
No, you're never far from home
Mom said I'm just like you
Little things you used to do
I like to think the same
Running from memories
Lessons you left with me
You teach me everyday
You may be far away
But you're never far from home
No matter where I go
You may be far away
But you're never far from home
No, you're never far from home
You may be far away
But you're never far from home
No matter where I go
You may be far away
But you're never far from home
No, you're never far from home
The lyrics of "Far From Home" by All That Remains convey a sense of longing and missing someone who is physically distant but emotionally close. The opening lines suggest that the singer finds solace in the vastness of the ocean, which symbolizes the distance they feel from their loved one. They express a need for assistance in navigating through the motions of everyday life until they can be reunited with this person. The plea for companionship and to fix the aching loneliness implies a deep emotional connection and reliance on the presence of the loved one.
The chorus emphasizes the idea that physical distance does not diminish the emotional bond shared with the person they are missing. They affirm that no matter where they go, the person is never truly far from home, highlighting the importance of their presence in creating a sense of belonging and security. The lyrics also mention the steadying hand of the person, who offers support and encouragement when the singer feels weak or uncertain. The mention of forgetting that the person has left suggests that their presence remains vividly felt even in their absence.
The latter part of the song introduces a personal connection between the singer and their loved one. They mention being compared to this person by their mother and feeling a sense of similarity in their actions and behaviors. The lyrics imply that the memories and lessons imparted by the loved one continue to shape the singer's life, and their teachings are cherished and appreciated every day.
In summary, "Far From Home" is a song that delves into the emotional impact of missing someone who is physically distant but remains close in heart and mind.
