In 2009, Aly & AJ renamed themselves 78violet and officially announced their departure from Hollywood Records the following year. In 2013, the sisters released their first single in five years, "Hothouse". The duo had planned to release a full-length album in 2014, which was later leaked onto the internet during summer 2014. On December 9, 2015, the duo announced they had decided to return to their original name, Aly & AJ. Since then, the duo has been working on new music.
On June 2, 2017, they announced a new single titled "Take Me".[8][9] It serves as the lead single from their EP, Ten Years. The single was released on August 18, 2017.

I agree. I’ve been a fan of them since I was 9 when “Into the Rush” came out and I always wondered as to why they never got the same amount of attention as some of the other female Disney Channel stars who went on to music careers like Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, and Selena Gomez. With them being a duo and sisters in real life, you’d think that both of them as their own entity would have gotten a bit more attention, but I’m still proud of being a fan of theirs for about 15 years. ❤️

It's so crazy, they seemed to be destined to go further down the rock road, but then switched. I was honestly surprised. Pretty much all Disney artists go full on pop and never look back. I was looking forward to them being the ones that changed that stereotype. Nonetheless, I really like this new song. Not big on their two EPs, but the edge of this song is really good.
