Take Me

I don't wait long 'cause I got better things to do
When you gonna take me out?
Make a move and make it now
When you gonna take me out?
When you gonna take me out?
Show me something before I show something to you
When you gonna take me out?
Make a move and make it now
When you gonna take me out?
When you gonna take me out?
When you gonna take me out?
I know that you would want it
If I could sink my teeth into you
I know that you would want it
If I could sink my teeth into you
First you gotta ask me out
I've been spending my attention on you
I don't wait long 'cause I got better things to do
When you gonna take me out?
When you gonna take me out?
When you gonna take me out?
I know that you would want it
If I could sink my teeth into you
I know that you would want it
If I could sink my teeth into you
In Aly & AJ's song "Take Me", the lyrics revolve around the theme of impatience and frustration in a burgeoning romantic relationship. The singer expresses her dissatisfaction with the lack of action from her love interest and questions when he will finally take her out and make a move. She emphasizes that she has prioritized him and dedicated her attention to him, but now she has "better things to do" if he doesn't step up.
The repetition of the question "When you gonna take me out?" highlights the frustration and longing for this person to actively pursue a relationship with her. The singer is tired of just talking and wants the person to show her something real before she is willing to reciprocate. The bold line "I know that you would want it if I could sink my teeth into you" adds a touch of sensuality and implies that she knows he desires her just as much.
Overall, the song captures the singer's frustration with a stagnant relationship and her desire for the other person to take action and make their intentions clear. It conveys a yearning for reciprocity and physical connection.

This is like 70s-80s footage and I'm getting teenage/high school/prom/Halloween type vibes and I'm loving it.

The vintage filters on this video definitely help punch up the disc/new wave vibes of the song. I love when artists do nods to old school stuff like that.

It also sounds like the sort of thing that gets played in the background at student house parties.
