After the critical and commercial success of 2001's "Gozo Poderoso", which landed Aterciopelados on the Top 10 of the Billboard Top Latin Albums Sales chart as well as a coveted appearance on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Echeverri took time off for the birth of her first child Milagros, who has proven to be a new point of artistic inspiration. The result is the self-titled album Andrea Echeverri, Andreas first solo release. The disc was produced by Hector Buitrago from Aterciopelados and mixed by Thom Russo (Juanes, Kinky, Johnny Cash), and also features a remix from Richard Blair (Sidestepper).
On "A Eme O", the albums upbeat first single, Echeverri observes the bond between mother and daughter as Milagros cries late at night. "Some songs are written for Milagros, but they sound like they're written for a lover," said Echeverri. Going ever further, she satirizes the highly sexualized lyrics of the Colombian genre called champeta, naming one of the albums tracks Lactochampeta. Its kind of a joke, because it has explicit lyrics about lactating.
After a recent series of successful tour dates (including headlining the Latin Alternative Music Conferences Women Who Rock concert in front of 10,000 people at the Santa Monica Pier, as well as the recent La Banda Elastica Magazine Awards), Andrea Echeverri looks forward to spending additional time visiting U.S. markets this spring in support of her new album on Nacional Records. With a backing band featuring members of Aterciopelados, longtime fans of the group can also look forward to new interpretations of Aterciopelados classics.
Madre Naturaleza

Eres mi vida
Eres mi hogar
Sin ti ni un paso
Yo podria dar
Y aunq me haz dado todo y más
Yo no te he sabido tratar
He ensuciado el camino al caminar.
Madre Naturaleza
Por una jungla de cemento he cambiado tu grandeza
Tierra negra, mar azul, pajaros multicolores
y deliciosos sabores.
Contemplar extasiado una azucena
Mis pies descalsos en la arena
Tu redondez ca
La luz dorada del sol
Gotas de lluvia en el balcon
Gracias por darnos suelo, cielo y corazon
Madre Naturaleza
Por una jungla de cemento he cambiado tu grandeza
Tierra negra, mar azul, pajaros multicolores
y deliciosos sabores.
Madre Naturaleza
Por una jungla de cemento he cambiado tu grandeza
Tierra negra, mar azul, pajaros multicolores
y deliciosos sabores.

The lyrics of Andrea Echeverri's song "Madre Naturaleza" speak of the singer's deep appreciation and gratitude towards nature. The first stanza speaks of how the singer cannot live without the natural world, as it is their home and breath of life. Despite all that nature has given the singer, they acknowledge that they have not treated it with the respect and care that it deserves. The second stanza continues this theme of appreciation, describing the beauty and wonder of the natural world with vivid images such as a blooming lily, bare feet in warm sand, and the golden light of the sun. The chorus repeats the idea that humanity has unfortunately chosen to replace the majesty of nature with a "jungle of cement," but the final line expresses gratitude for the ground we stand on, the sky above, and the heart that beats within us.
Overall, the song expresses a deep longing for a connection with nature that has been lost in modern society's constant striving for progress and development. It is a plea to remember the value and importance of nature, and to treat it with the respect and care that it deserves.
