Anelis Assumpção is a brazilian singer, songwriter and percussionist. She is currently recording her first CD.
With the sagacity of those who sing in the fluency of the best bar conversations, the daughter of Itamar Assumpção find the right spot to soak in a mixture of uncompromising poetry (probable paternal inheritance) with a balance of samba, reggae, hip hop and the so-called avant-garde in São Paulo.
The major tone of voice and her almost theatrical interpretation, value the letters of her own songs.
Simple and comfortable, some of the verses sounds familiar, as fragments of a conversation or dialogue balloon in a HQ read in the newspaper that made you laugh at breakfast.
The feminine swaying elegantly echoes the work of Anelis Assumpção.

Quem centeio integra o pão
Quem liga os ovos à todos, consola
Quem é o calor do fogão
Quem que dá gosto e recheia, põe fruta
Quem na massa põe a mão
Quem é o forno ou a forma, quenta
Quem dá forma de coração
Sabor de quê? Baunilha
De framboesa e limão
Quem dá receita à filha?
De morango, jiló não
A mão de Deus ou do acaso
Reparte em fatias
Açúcar branco ou mascavo
Quem come se delicia
A mão de Deus ou do acaso
Reparte em fatias
Açúcar branco ou mascavo
Quem come se delicia
Quem é farinha no bolo, não sola
Quem centeio integra o pão
Quem liga os ovos à todos, consola
Quem é o calor do fogão
Quem que dá gosto e recheia, põe fruta
Quem na massa põe a mão
Quem é o forno ou a forma, quenta
Quem dá forma de coração
Sabor de quê? Baunilha
De framboesa e limão
Quem dá receita à filha?
De morango, jiló não
A mão de Deus ou do acaso
Reparte em fatias
Açúcar branco ou mascavo
Quem come se delicia
A mão de Deus ou do acaso
Reparte em fatias
Açúcar branco ou mascavo
Quem come se delicia
Quem come se delicia

The lyrics of Anelis Assumpção's song "Receita Rápida" delve into the metaphorical concept of life as a recipe, comparing human roles and qualities to ingredients in a baking process. The opening lines reflect on the importance of each individual's contribution to a collective effort, just like different ingredients work together to create a delicious dish. Those who are like "farinha no bolo" (flour in the cake) do not spoil the final product, highlighting the significance of every person's role in a community or relationship.
The mention of "centieo integra o pão" (rye integrates the bread) emphasizes the idea of diversity and inclusion, suggesting that each person brings a unique flavor and texture to the mix. The imagery of "ligar os ovos à todos" (binding the eggs to everyone) conveys the comforting and unifying role that some individuals play in bringing people together. The reference to the warmth of the stove symbolizes the nurturing and supportive qualities of certain individuals who provide sustenance and care to others.
The repeated refrain about giving taste, filling with fruit, shaping the dough, heating the oven, and forming as a heart showcases the various roles and characteristics that contribute to the richness and complexity of life. The specific flavors mentioned, such as vanilla, raspberry, and lemon, further highlight the uniqueness and individuality of each person's essence. The line "De morango, jiló não" (Of strawberry, not bitter melon) implies that some influences or ingredients are more favorable and appealing than others in shaping one's experiences and identity.
The mention of a higher power or chance in distributing slices and the choice between white or brown sugar allude to the randomness and unpredictability of life, as well as the different experiences and flavors that individuals encounter. Ultimately, the repeated assertion that those who partake in the "deliciousness" of life are the ones who indulge in it implies that joy and satisfaction come to those who embrace the diverse and collaborative nature of existence. The overall message of the song seems to celebrate the beauty of diversity, unity, and individual contributions in the grand recipe of life.
