A self-taught guitarist and song writer, Anuhea began showcasing her talents while boarding at Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu. ''I started writing songs... I was discovering my talent and passion while discovering how to deal with emotions every teenager has to go through." Anuhea excelled in the spotlight. She was the head anchor for the daily campus-wide news, hosted a variety of TV shows for OCI6, and acted in school musicals.
After attending film school in Orange County for a year, Anuhea realized music was more her calling. She returned to the islands and immediately got into the scene, performing at local coffee shops which turned into paid restaurant gigs. Anuhea's skills improved with every gig, and successes came steadily and deservedly. She took the initiative to market herself as a musician, and until this point has acted as her own manager, booking agent, and music producer and distributor. She took recordings from a live taping for a public radio station and turned them into her 22-track demo CD "Rough Cuts" which she sells "out of her trunk" and through her MySpace page to fans across the globe.
After years of graciously turning down offers from local labels, Anuhea decided to sign with indie music label OneHawaii Music LLC. Co-founded by former Atlantic Records rep, Warren Wyatt and her aunty Nalani of Na Leo Pilimehana, OneHawaii is poised to get Anuhea heard, with major distribution through Koch Entertainment. In 2009, she released her self-titled debut album.
The future is bright for this Maui songbird. Anuhea's determination, passion, optimism and raw talent are the foundations for the success that is to come. "I just feel lucky that I've found my dream and am able to pursue it... My main goal as a music-maker is to help people find theirs, whatever it may be."

[Verse 1:]
This ain't no middle school love boy,
This time for love ain't no immature thang.
What i got fits for a man,
Give what i can, with what i got and what i want is for you to take me.
If you're lookin' for love, call me, call me
If your looking for love baby call me, call me
If you're looking for love, call me, call me
If you're lookin' for love baby call me
[Verse 2:]
I know i don't know you're story (no no no, no no no)
But i got a little time on my hands(yeah yeah yeah yeah)
Cause its not about your body,
Or how i want it on me,
But what underneath that skin.
I ain't try'na fight I'm talkin bout true lovin this is real boy
[Chorus]
[Bridge:]
You don't have to search no more,
If you listen to me, hear me, feel me
The vibes all right, the connections are true
Hear me now when i say, I'm just a phone call away
I'm just a phone call away (yeah)
This ain't no middle school love boy
This time for love ain't no immature thang.
Cause its not about your body
Or how i want it on me
But whats underneath that skin ooh
[Chorus]
(fade) woah woah. Oooh. If your lookin' for love. Pick up that phone and call me.
I'm goinna talk to you in the mornin' time on a day and in the night.
Anuhea's song "Looking for Love" is a declaration of mature love. The first verse categorically states that the love the singer is looking for is no child's play. She wants a man who is ready for a real relationship. She asserts that what she has to offer is worth a man's time and affection, and she wants to be taken seriously. The chorus reinforces the singer's eagerness to be found by a man looking for love. She implores such a man to call her, saying that she is available and ready to be his lover. The second verse is a testament to the singer's emotional depth. She isn't interested in a man's physicality but is drawn to his spirit. She desires genuine affection that comes from within, one that isn't premised on superficial attraction. The bridge is a soothing call to loneliness. The singer reassures anyone out there searching for love that they need not look any further. She speaks of bottomless connections between people that go beyond material wants. She concludes that she is just a phone call away, urging those without someone to love to give her a ring. The fade-out chorus is a final reminder of the singer's availability to anyone out there looking for love.
