Te Quero
Asa de Águia Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Te quero a toda
Te quero antes
Que a bomba exploda
Te quero lua
Brilhar na rua
No carnaval
Te quero agora
Te quero dentro
E não lá fora
E quero ainda
Viver a vida
Em alto astral
Veja o sol pintar no farol
Veja o mar que vem nos banhar
Vejo a vida abrindo a avenida
Pra gente passar
E a gente se amar
Te quero amor
Me leva no eva
Amor te quero
Comigo no eva
Te quero amor
Me leva no eva
É nessa que eu vou.
The lyrics of Te Quero by Asa de Águia express a passionate desire for someone the singer loves deeply. The verses declare the intensity of the singer's passion and desire for his love interest, stating that he wants her at all times, before it's too late and referencing the bomb that may explode. The chorus then declares the singer's unwavering love, wanting to always be with his love interest, living life to the fullest together. The second verse speaks of the beauty of life, seeing the sun paint the lighthouse, the sea that washes over them, and the road of life opening up for them to walk, hand in hand, full of love. The outro, in turn, reaffirms the singer's desire for his love interest, urging her to take him along to the "Eva," a popular carnival group in Brazil, stating this is where he wants to go with her.
The lyrics of the song convey a sense of urgency and a deep desire to seize the moment and love completely. The metaphors of the bomb and the carnaval are symbols of the fleetingness of life, emphasizing the importance of living fully and passionately. The chorus speaks to a steadfast commitment to a partner, showing that true love is not just a passing fancy but something that endures. The overall imagery of the song is colorful and vibrant, reflective of the celebration of love and the joy of life that it brings.
