The song Ghar Jayegi by Asha Bhosle is a wedding song that is typically played during the vidai ceremony. The vidai ceremony is the moment when the bride is about to leave the parental home to begin a new life with the groom. The lyrics of the song describe the emotions and feelings of the bride as she gets ready to leave her childhood home. The opening lines of the song, "Ghar Jayegi Tar Jayegi Doliya Chadh Jayegi," mean that the bride will leave for her new home and will be carried off in a decorated doli.
Throughout the song, the bride requests to be taken to her new home slowly and subtly so that no one will notice her. She is afraid that she might feel embarrassed and start crying. The lyrics emphasize the sorrow and apprehension of the bride as she is about to leave her familiar surroundings and start a new chapter in her life. The lines, "Dhire Dhire Leke Chalna, Angna Se Nikalna, Koi Dekhe Na Dulhan Ko Gali Mein," suggests that the bride wishes to leave her house quietly without drawing any unnecessary attention.
The lyrics of the song have a nostalgic and melancholic touch to them, and Asha Bhosle's soulful voice adds to the emotional impact of the song. The song conveys the sentiments of the bride at the moment of leaving her parental home, and the music and lyrics can evoke strong feelings in the listener.
