After signing with AFM Records in 2002, the band then released "Only Human" before touring Europe with Rhapsody and Angel Dust.
Singer Oliver Hartmann then left the band and a replacement was found in former Yngwie Malmsteen singer Mats Leven.
Lenk spent the next few months writing 2003's album “The Evil In You”. A tour with Kamelot followed. After that, "Chained" was released in 2005 and secured chart entries in Scandinavia. The band then toured with Brainstorm and Mercenary. Mats Leven is no longer a member of At Vance and was replaced by Rick Altzi for their newest album, VII.

At Vance Lyrics

I lost myself
I kept on falling
Straight down to hell
Stood at the crossroads
I needed a sign
To find my way
As the light seemed to be too far away
The answer to every prayer
Looked into my eyes and took my hand
(It took)
Two hearts but only one wish
Two hearts, together we're strong
(It took)
Two hearts but only one wish
Two hearts, together we're strong
The wheels of life
Spinning around
I kept on falling
No feet on the ground
Reached out for something
But I forgot to give
It took an angel to show me how to live
As the light seemed to be too far away
The answer to every prayer
Looked into my eyes and took my hand
(It took)
Two hearts but only one wish
Two hearts, together we're strong
(It took)
Two hearts but only one wish
Two hearts, together we're strong
The lyrics of At Vance's song "Two Hearts" tell a story of a lost soul who is searching for a way out of darkness. The song opens with the singer expressing the loss of his mind and self, and how he kept falling straight down to hell. Stood at the crossroads, he needed a sign to find his way back to the light.
The chorus "Two hearts but only one wish, two hearts, together we're strong" highlights the idea that strength exists in numbers. The singer acknowledges that he needs someone who can help him overcome the darkness, and that together they can achieve anything.
The wheels of life spinning around, the singer kept on falling with no feet on the ground. He reached out for something, but he forgot to give. It took an angel to show him how to live. The lyrics suggest that sometimes we need someone else's guidance to find the way back to our true selves.
The song's message is inspiring and hopeful, reminding listeners that with the support of others, we can overcome the difficulties we face in life. It encourages us to seek help when we need it and to look for the light even in the darkest of moments. The use of metaphors such as the crossroads and the angel adds depth to the lyrics, making the message more relatable.
