Throughout their 10 years of activities the band experimented with a variety of different styles, such as rockabilly and surf-rock. Their lyrics–most of which were written by Asai–touched upon serious matters such as broken families and animal mistreatment, but also imaginative creatures and individuals made up in Asai’s mind. The band’s lineup remained consistent until breaking up in 2000. After the disbandment, Asai Kenichi created his own label, Sexy Stones Records, and founded the bands SHERBETS, JUDE and AJICO. Drummer Nakamura Tatsuya went on to concentrate on his LOSALIOS project, while bassist Terui Toshiyuki recorded material in bands such as ROSSO and RAVEN. In later years, he has also played bass on some of Asai Kenichi’s solo project releases.

CAMARO
BLANKEY JET CITY Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
偶然 恋に落ち 偶然 死んでゆく
Happy birthday to you 泣き叫び 生まれ堕ちた
Happy birthday to you 誰も同じ 泣き叫び この世に
ヘドがでるTVショー オレたちの血なのか
文部省がにぶいからさ もっと楽しくしようぜBaby
めちゃくちゃいいね そのCAMARO ドアなくて
Happy birthday to you 泣き叫び 生まれ堕ちた
Happy birthday to you
The lyrics to Blankey Jet City's song CAMARO revolve around the concept of chance and the unpredictable nature of life. The first verse starts off with the idea that the singer and their friend met by chance on Earth and then fell in love and died by chance as well. The chorus then repeats the phrase "Happy birthday to you" but with the added line "crying out the moment I was born" emphasizing the emotional turmoil that comes with being alive.
The second verse introduces the idea of a TV show that may be related to the singer and their friend's bloodline. The lyrics suggest that because the Ministry of Education is dull, the singer and their friend should make their lives more exciting by enjoying their time together. The final chorus once again repeats the line "Happy birthday to you" but this time with the added line "crying out the moment I was born, everyone's the same crying out in this world."
Overall, the song appears to be about the fragility and chance-like nature of life. Despite the unpredictability and potential pain that comes with being alive, the song suggests that it is important to enjoy life and find happiness in the moments we have.
