The band began as a ska group but quickly transcended the genre, mixing punk, reggae, rock, swing and jazz influences. They sing in both French and English, sometimes mixing the two in songs. Their third album, Dances of Resistance, was recorded in 2003 and largely has an anti-war theme. In 2009 they launched their latest album La Belle Étoile. Since then they are still on tour all over the world, from their own country France to other countries in Europe, but also to foreign places like Abu Dhabi and New Zealand.

On n’entend plus que ça
On n’entend plus que toi
On se croise des yeux
On sourit
On se prête au jeu
On s’embellit
Et c'est parti
Tout, ouais tout est beau
Tout nous séduit
On pourrait recommencer
Faire mentir le passé
On pourrait recommencer
Souviens-toi
On avait vingt ans
Dis-moi je me souviens
On avait vingt ans
De moins
Ton silence
On n’entend plus que ça
On n’entend plus que toi
On maladresse
Nos envies
Nos idées noires
Nos p'tits soucis
La vie en rose
Vus d'ici
Les touts ouais, tout est beau
Tout nous sourit
On pourrait le cœur serré
Faire mentir le passé
On pourrait recommencer
Souviens-toi
On avait vingt ans
Dis-moi je me souviens
On avait vingt ans
De moins
Ton silence
On n’entend plus que ça
On n’entend plus que toi
The song "Ton silence" by Babylon Circus is a mix of nostalgia, regret, and hope. The lyrics, which talk about the possibilities of the past and the present, are paired with upbeat and optimistic music, creating a feeling of bittersweetness.
The song starts with "Ton silence" (your silence), which seems to be a reference to someone who is no longer present. The singer mentions that all they can hear now is this silence, which might be the memory of a person that they miss. However, as the song progresses, it becomes clear that the memories tied to this silence are positive. The singer talks about the good times they shared, the games they played, and the moments that made them happy. The refrain "On avait vingt ans" (We were twenty years old) indicates that the memories belong to a distant past, and that time and distance have changed things.
Throughout the song, the singer expresses the desire to relive these moments, to go back to the past and experience them again. The lyrics suggest that although time has passed, the feelings and emotions attached to those memories are still alive, and that they could be brought back to life if given the chance. However, the song acknowledges that some things cannot be undone, and that the past should be seen as a lesson rather than a regret.
