Me atrapan, me enloquecen, me torturan
Mis ganas de saber que nos espera
Me hacen sentir perdido aunque me quieras
The song "Como Querer" by Bacilos is a touching and sincere examination of the complexity and beauty of love. The lyrics express that the person's desire to love is not as simple as they had hoped. The sheer force of their desire for the other person makes them feel overwhelmed and tortured. The person's desire to know what their future holds with their beloved is so strong that it makes them feel lost and uncertain.
The lyrics also delve into the importance of taking it slow with the heart. The person singing the song reminds themselves that the heart should be taken calmly, step by step – "Un día a la vez" – one day at a time. The song also recognizes and respects the importance of their loved one's freedom, acknowledging that both their freedoms are equally significant.
The lines "El miedo es el olor que ya conozco, El miedo a perder que seas todo" ("Fear is the familiar scent, Fear of losing everything that you are") express the fear of losing the person they care deeply about. At the same time, the song lyrics speak about how life teaches us to protect ourselves, but love can undo all our attempts to defend ourselves. It's an accurate portrayal of the struggle to navigate life and love, something that many can relate to, making it a genuinely poignant song.
