BarlowGirl's Philosophy
The band has gained a following with their "Anti-Conformity" message of "Don't be conformed, be Transformed" from Romans 12:1-2. Besides believing in abstinence and modesty, the band has also taken a stand on not dating, but their main message remains that people should look to God for love and security, and he will bring everything else into our lives. Very simply, trust God. They encourage people to trust the unseen. Just because you can't see God doesn't mean He isn't there!
Self Titled Debut Album
BarlowGirl instantly hit the spotlight in 2004 with their acclaimed self-titled debut album, coupled with the success of its first single, Never Alone. The longest running No. 1 song in 2004 on R&R’s CHR and CRW Rock charts, Never Alone was named "Song of the Year" on each of these charts. The CD has sold over 250,000 units (as of April 2005) and featured the singles Never Alone and Mirror which both garnered much airplay on Christian radio stations. These number one songs earned the trio four 2005 GMA (Gospel Music Association) awards (formerly the Dove Award) award nominations, including the prestigious Best New Artist award, Best Rock Song and Rock Album. The trio was the best selling new Christian artist of 2004. BarlowGirl received a 2006 GMA award nomination for Rock/Contemporary Song of the Year for Mirror.
Another Journal Entry
Their second album, Another Journal Entry, was released on September 27, 2005. The first single from the album, Let Go, had already begun receiving airplay on Christian radio stations. Their next single from this album, I Need You to Love Me, has also received recent some airplay on some Christian radio stations after the album's debut. The album debuted at #3 on Soundscan's Christian album chart, and, as of Oct. 10, is at 85 on Billboards Top 200 Current Albums chart. The trio was nominated for three additional 2006 GMA (Gospel Music Association) awards: Group of the Year, Rock/Contemporary Album of the Year, and and Rock Recorded Song of the Year for Let Go.
Take Me Away

Trying not to be swept away
Fighting just to keep this crowd from hiding you another day
So maybe, this time I'll find you
Maybe, this time I'll push through
To see you today, today
[Chorus]
Cause I need some time to get away,
Where only you could ever
Take me away,away,away
Away
Too many days I've been distracted
Watch these crowds push you away
I'm so tired of feeling empty
Without you, I waste these days
So maybe, this time I'll find you
Just don't stop calling me to you
I'll find my way today
[Chorus]
Maybe this time I'll find you yeah
Find you today, today
[Chorus]
The lyrics to the BarlowGirl song "Take Me Away" describe the singer's desire to escape the distractions and crowds around her and find solace in a relationship with God. She fights through the throngs of people around her, determined not to let them continue to obscure her connection to God. She has been feeling empty and unfulfilled without that connection and is desperate for some kind of spiritual relief.
In the chorus, she pleads with God to take her away from the noise and commotion of the world so that she can have some peace and clarity. She knows that only God can provide that for her and begs for His help in finding it. The repeated "away, away, away" at the end of the chorus speaks to how much she wants to be removed from her current situation and brought closer to God.
Overall, the lyrics of "Take Me Away" are a powerful expression of the search for spiritual fulfillment and the struggles that can come with trying to reconnect with faith in a chaotic world.

True, believing in God is not religion, but religion is not evil. Having a relationship with God is important above all, but Christianity still has guidelines we are to follow, which is religion. And they do come from God, so... you can't really have one without the other. We can say that we love God but if we do not follow his commandments what does that make us?

ok, what I said a minute ago was kind of a contradiction, in my opinion it's bad, but I can't make them believe it. and if they think differently, then that's fine with me. but the end up sometimes doing bad things with good intentions. that's what I meant by believing in bad things. this is all just my opinion though

@renothking noo not at all. But the whole idea is to reach for the lost souls. its there way of sharing their personal experiences. But anyone can relate to this song =)

Okay religion is not "evil". When it comes to a relationship with him it is not NECESSARY. Religion is the rules and customs. God's rules and customs are NOT evil. Religion isn't the core of our religion it is but a part. And @Drumlinegypsy247 is correct believing in God is a truth not a custom. But that doesn't make all of religion evil.

religion isn't evil. if it were evil, then would be no church. in my opinion at least. but there are a lot of misguided people that have beliefs about things that are bad, but I won't say that they're wrong or that what they believe in is bad because that's not for me to say or decide. but religion is not evil
