Otra vez
Me quede llorando de pie
Y si me conoces algo bien
Ya no me interesa
Todo el oro
Te puedes quedar
Y cabe una tumba después
Me tire a esperarte otra vez
Ooh
Y si me conoces algo bien
Ya no me interesa
Todo el oro
Te puedes llevar
Todo el oro
Te puedes quedar
The lyrics of Bengala's song Oro are melancholic poetry that reflects the feelings of a person who had their heart broken. The opening lines "Explote mi cuerpo otra vez" (My body exploded again) depict the physical and emotional pain that the person is feeling. The next lines "Me quede llorando de pie" (I stayed crying while standing up) show the vulnerability of the singer, who feels defeated and powerless. The following phrases "Y si me conoces algo bien, ya no me interesa” (And if you know me well, I don't care anymore) indicate the singer's detachment from the other person, suggesting that they have moved on from the relationship.
The chorus "Todo el oro te puedes quedar" (You can keep all the gold) is powerful, as it symbolizes the value the other person held in the singer's life. The phrase suggests that the person is willing to part with everything they have, but not their self-respect and dignity, which can't be bought or taken away. The following lines "Y cabe una tumba después, me tire a esperarte otra vez" (There is a tomb ahead of me, I threw myself in waiting again) further reflect the singer's despair and willingness to give up on everything and wait for the other person despite the apparent futility of this action.
In conclusion, Oro is a moving tale of heartbreak and despair. It captures the emotions of the singer who has lost everything but still clings to hope. It's a reminder of how love can both give and take away, leaving us vulnerable and exposed.
