Jaj-jaj
Bikini Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

1. Jó táncú gyerek voltam,
Nagyokat kurjongattam.
Ha tékómat fújtam,
A lányok rikoltoztak.
Jó táncú gyerek voltam,
Nagyokat kurjongattam.
Amióta öreg lettem,
Már csak az asszony fújja.

R. Fújjad asszony, fújjad,
Ne remegjen az ujjad!
Fújjad, fújjad, fújjad,

Nem szakad el a húrja.
Jaj, jaj, jaj-jaj!

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of Bikini's song Jaj-jaj tell the story of a boy who was a great dancer and loved to shout and make noise. He used to have a lot of fun blowing on his "tékóma" (an improvised musical instrument made of a bottle and a straw) and the girls used to scream in excitement. But now that he's getting old, he cannot dance like he used to and the only one making noise is his wife who is blowing on his old "tékóma". The repetitive chorus encourages his wife to keep blowing and not let the string break. The exclamation "Jaj, jaj, jaj-jaj!" at the end of every verse might be interpreted as a lament or warning that life is fleeting and we should enjoy it while we can.

The lyrics are simple and humorous, but they also have a deeper meaning. They suggest that life is short and we should enjoy it while we can, even if we can't do the things we used to. The song also celebrates the joy of music, dance, and community. It portrays a world where people come together to have fun and make noise, regardless of age or gender. The chorus is a call to action, encouraging us to embrace life and keep the music playing, no matter what.
