I hope to see you come
We fuse the lights
The dark will come undone
I've been soulblind
Don't make a fuss about the truth
I'm faking it
Don't refuse to get abused
I will make it fit, yeah
I'm miles away
I'm running at such a speed
I feel I want some more
Much more than I will need
I've been soulblind
Don't make a fuss about the truth
I'm faking it
I've been soulblind
Don't refuse to get abused
I will make it fit
Oh, will I get through?
I see my hands turn grey
Yeah, but I have to
Clear my eyes and watch you fade
I've been soulblind
Don't make a fuss about the truth
I'm faking it
I've been soulblind
Don't refuse to get abused
I will make it fit
I've been soulblind
The lyrics to "Soulblind" by Blackmail appear to be about struggling with emotional numbness and a lack of connection to others. The singer mentions being "soulblind," which could mean feeling like their soul or emotional center is obscured or inaccessible. They seem to be putting on a facade of normalcy, or "faking it," even though they know they are not being entirely honest. There is a sense of distance and isolation, as well as a desire for something more, which the singer describes as "much more than I will need." The idea of the dark coming undone suggests a shedding of pretense and a potential for vulnerability or openness.
Towards the end of the song, the singer begins to see their situation more clearly and realistically, saying they need to "clear [their] eyes and watch you fade." This could be directed at someone who is causing them pain, or it could be a reference to their own illusions or self-delusions. The repeated refrain of "don't refuse to get abused, I will make it fit" could indicate a willingness to accept mistreatment in exchange for some kind of connection or validation.
