Produced by Chicago rancor-rock godfather Steve Albini, "Grafted to an Elbow" is oblique yet vehement, its unease with contemporary society conveyed more by TV- damaged titles like "Nature's Gentle Regulator" than by the cryptic, fragmentary lyrics spit out by David Bryant (Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Set Fires To Flames).

Won't Let Go
Bliss Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
When all your friends are gone
Ah, sister, I surely miss you
But at least you know I hear you call
I said, daddy, you make me happy, yeah
You make me smile, ooh yes, you do
I said, mother, oh mother love, oh mother
You're so strong, yes, you are
(chorus)
I won't let go, I won't let go
'Cause I've been lovin' you for much too long
I won't let go, I won't forget you, no
'Cause it's love we've been created for
Ah, sweet friend, you are my freedom
I just wanna let you know, that's all
I said, stranger, don't be afraid of me
'Cause deep down we're all the same
You know, deep down inside
All in all you're my family, you're the sea
Surrounding me, you're the story behind the world
You're the people making love, making history
(repeat chorus)
And I said, brother, come on come on, sister
Let's get lovin', hmm hmm, yeah, yeah
I said brother, come on come on, sister
Let's get lovin', everybody
(repeat chorus)
The lyrics to Bliss's song "Won't Let Go" are a beautiful ode to the people in our lives who mean the most to us. The song begins with the singer addressing various important people in their life, telling them how much they are loved and needed. The lines "Oh, brother, I love ya and I'll be here/When all your friends are gone" and "Ah, sister, I surely miss you/But at least you know I hear you call" both convey a deep sense of love and loyalty towards family members.
The singer then moves on to address their parents, expressing their love and gratitude towards them. The lines "I said, daddy, you make me happy, yeah/You make me smile, ooh yes, you do" and "I said, mother, oh mother love, oh mother/You're so strong, yes you are" both exude a profound sense of affection and admiration.
The chorus of the song is particularly poignant, with the repeated refrain "I won't let go, I won't forget you, no/'Cause it's love we've been created for" reinforcing the idea that love and connection are what make life worth living. The song ends with the singer urging everyone to come together and love one another, with the lines "And I said, brother, come on come on, sister/Let's get lovin', hmm hmm, yeah, yeah/I said brother, come on come on, sister/Let's get lovin', everybody" emphasizing the importance of unity and compassion.
Overall, "Won't Let Go" is a powerful anthem to the love that binds us all together, and a reminder to cherish the people in our lives who matter most.
